  • I'm in! Let's do this! B)
  • I have also been struggling with lower back pain and it turns out it's because of my posture (to put is short and simple). My personal trainer at the gym indicated some stretches that will help alleviating the back pain and correcting my posture. These links https://blog.paleohacks.com/stretches-for-lower-back-pain/ and…
  • I'm so glad I'm not the only one! I thought something was wrong with me haha I've been doing HIIT workout a couple of times a week and on my rest days I am so hungry!
  • LOL I calculated in kgs and was thinking: no way I have to eat so few calories! Than I realized she was probably talking is lbs lol
  • I totally relate to you! I struggled with my weight my whole life and hated the "fat jokes" or when people just bluntly said: you look fat. It's incredible how this shapes the way we think! It took a long timefor me to realize that the way my body looks doesn't define me. If I'm fat, skinny or just average, it doesn't…

  • After I wrote my whole reply I noticed you had already replied and is doing was I was going to recommend lol I'm also breastfeeding, so I understand the challenge it is to try eating enough calories not to reduce milk supply while still losing weight! I'm glad you decided to continue to breastfeed! It's the best for your…
  • Hi Allie! Yeah, moving to a different country is not easy! I moved to Canada almost 7 years ago and oh boy did I gain weight! But hang in there! I'm sure you will soon make new friends at your new home (you sound like a nice person  ). I'll add you.
  • Well, I'll share my goals with you and hopefully that will help  I need to lose about 50lbs and obviously this is not going to happen overnight. However, if I just say I want to lose 50lbs by Dec, it is way too far ahead and I will get discourage. So what I've been doing is so set a goal of losing 1-1.5lb/week,…

  • I would do what marine suggested: enter the food in my fitness pal and most likely eat just part of it (eating the whole thing probably has way too many calories), that way you don't sabotage your diet but don't look rude to your co-workers. Other than that, enjoy your birthday

  • Wow! Thank you so much for sharing your story! It takes a lot of courage to put your heart out the way you did! I have no doubt you will reach your goal!
  • My pants are not tight anymore
  • I honestly thought of suggesting the same thing at the beginning lol But unfortunately, for him it's not about the shirt, but about the promise.

  • I understand you don't want break the promise you made to your friend, but the truth is: your goal is impossible to reach. I'm not being negative, I'm being realistic. You are eating well below your recommended minimum calorie intake. That means that your body is going on starvation mode and, instead of you losing weight,…

  • That's exactly what OP is talking about and I totally agree with OP's point. Regardless of me logging that ice cream I ate yesterday (it was soooo good), the calories and fat and sugar are going to my body anyways. I think what happens to those people who don't log these items is that they are in denial trying making…
  • You are not too far from your healthy weight. That's good! To help you feeling hungry less often, try to increase your protein. For example, having a toast with peanut butter is better than with butter, because peanut butter has more protein. Also, increase your fiber; it also makes you feel fuller for longer, and, if you…
  • Alberta  Feel free to add me
  • Good for you! :)
  • Hi ddmoes! I'm also in Alberta! I'll add you
  • Well, I think the first advice I would give is: believe in yourself. As tough as it might be, if you focus on your goals and where you want to get, you absolutely can do it! In terms of exercise, try to do anything in the water (swim, aquafit, etc) so it doesn't bother your joints. One thing that helps me to keep going is…
  • Hi Carly! Good to find someone from Edmonton! I'll add you
  • Hey mommyvalarie, I'm trying to lose 50lbs - just started over with MFP as well :) I'll add you so we can motivate each other.
  • A book on nutrition I really recommend is 10 Steps for Heatly Eating, by Leslie Beck. Her website is also very helpful!
  • Yes! My little guy is almost 5 months now. I lost my pregnancy weight ready (I only gained 7kg), but was already overweight before getting pregnant. My goal is to lose 50lbs, most of it by his birthday in September
  • I disagree with aggelikik: whatever you do, do not eat less than $1,700cal a day as it *does* affect your milk supply (both the amount and nutrition of your milk). Research shows that you should not lose more than 1.5lbs/week while breastfeeding. Here's a useful link:…
  • Oh, and something a forgot to say: don't beat yourself up if some days you are hungrier than usual and need to eat more than your goal calorie intake. Some days I eat quite a bit more than usual but I do notice that those are the days my baby feeds more often (which means that my body is working more to produce more milk,…
  • I'm also breastfeeding and had an appointment with a dietitian yesterday :) The first piece of advice she gave me was: be patient! She advised me not to try losing weight too quickly; she said a goal of 0.5kg/week is reasonable and that losing 1kg/week is already too much because I'm breastfeeding and losing too quickly…
