Anyone have any suggestions for exercises that help with lower back pain. I'm doing yoga specifically for back pain. In need of some exercises I can do in the gym. Thanks!

Has a doctor diagnosed the cause of your back pain? That would be the first step and the only one that really matters. After the cause is diagnosed, doctor should be able to refer to physical therapy for specific exercises to treat your condition.
An exercise that helps one problem can make another one worse. In general, I've found that overall core strengthening has been the biggest benefit. This is a long term process, not a quick fix. Core strengthening was built into nearly every exercise my trainer had me do, too many to list, and I wouldn't want to point you down the wrong path for your condition anyway.2 -
Becareful with any type of pain. It is better to go and see a physical therapist who can tailor some exercises to your circumstances.0

Indeed! Until you have a clear way ahead from a doctor or sports PT(Physical Therapist) Preferably based on x rays and MRI. that at a minimum identifies what NOT to do, anything we say can be counterproductive.1 -
There are so many different things that can cause lower back pain. It is best to get the cause diagnosed first then discuss the findings with a professional to advise you what excercises would be best.
I speak from experience having self diagnosed my own back pain and made matters worse trying to "work" through it.

I have also been struggling with lower back pain and it turns out it's because of my posture (to put is short and simple). My personal trainer at the gym indicated some stretches that will help alleviating the back pain and correcting my posture. These links https://blog.paleohacks.com/stretches-for-lower-back-pain/ and https://www.prevention.com/fitness/strength-training/foam-roller-strengthen-muscles-and-relieve-pain have some of the stretching exercises she recommended. I hope it helps0
