  • OP, you're not alone! I too have what've I've dubbed "liqua-boobs" after 3.5 years of breastfeeding and +80 lbs lost. I've been through the bra fittings and beautiful $65 bras, with no luck. I have yet to find a bra made for liqua-boobs and I have completely exhausted the poor ladies at Nordstrom while trying ever style in…
  • I quit 1.5 years ago by switching to an e-cig. I was one of those people who was NEVER going to quit smoking. I got a decent e-cig and never looked back. It was easier than I ever could've imagined. I'm down to 6mg of nicotine (which is very little, a cig has around 20mg I believe) and I have no desire to smoke. It's…
  • Yeah, I have one that I noticed pretty recently (and I'm pretty sure it wasn't there when I weighed what I do now four years ago). I've also been breastfeeding over three years now so who knows why it has appeared! I've also lost a substantial amount of breast volume during weight loss. I just figured this was me getting…
  • Since this was your first and only post, I highly doubt you're going to comeback and read any responses, but I just have to say you are horribly misinformed. The normal biologically weaning age worldwide is anywhere between 2.5 - 7 years old. The first set of teeth are often called "milk teeth" for a reason! It is…
  • You could consider the copper IUD which is hormone free.
  • Someone asked you earlier, but I don't think you answered: When you were eating 1200 cals, were you using a scale to weigh your food? Usually the first place people go wrong who aren't losing is eating more than they think (not weighing their food) or overestimating their exercise burns.
  • I wish they'd include the asterisks and confirmations on the app version of MFP. I use my phone or iPad to log my food and I hate that I can't see this info there.
  • Sounds like extreme sodium overload + normal weight fluctuation. Drink some water and just get back to your regular calorie goal. It'll be fine. Edit to add: Don't weigh yourself at 1am after an extravagant meal. Just get back to your plan and weigh at your normal time.
  • There can be a lot of genetics involved in this one. I have my family's dreaded Polish chin much like you described. If I'm even slightly overweight I have a double chin and it's always been my most self-conscious feature. It most likely will go away with weight loss (mine did) although you may never have the super strong,…
  • When I first started losing weight and had a lot to lose, I only weighed once a week on Friday, but I was pretty much guaranteed to have a loss each week back then. For a long time now I weigh every day and record it in a separate app on my phone (so I don't have my friends congratulating me for "losing" the same weight…
  • It took me six months to lose my first 60 lbs and it has taken me eight months to lose the last 20lbs. I'm on my last 8 lbs I'd like to lose and it's slow going, but I'm alright with that. My advice, be determined because it'll get you through all the days when you've lost your motivation.
  • If you have a lot to lose, 10 lbs won't be very noticeable. I had to lose 25 before I began to see a difference. 10 lbs is a great start though and soon you'll see yourself changing.
  • First off, do you weigh your food? If you haven't been losing weight and don't have a medical condition, you may be eating more than you think.
  • The average weaning age (globally) is between 2.5 and 5 years. Some children nurse even longer. I'm still happily nursing my three year old.
  • Artificially suppressing your appetite will NOT get you use to eating smaller amounts of food. When you stop, your appetite will return with a vengeance and you will have to exert even more self-control than you would have originally. Best to just harness that willpower now.

  • In case you want the math-free version when logging something like this: Just select the "1g" option instead of the "524g" option and then enter the exact grams for the number of servings :)
  • My sympathies. I'm laughing right now, but with you, not at you. (Note to self: forget that tape idea.)
  • Are we sisters? All of what you said there: Yes. I'd kill for a bra that works for us unfortunate ladies who lost most of their breast fat and whose skin just didn't not recover. The only thing that keeps them contained is a really snug sports bra, but walking around with a uni-boob is just not a confidence booster. Sigh.…
  • Are you recording those oils in your diary?
  • It's REALLY easy to add calories without a lot of extra food or sodium. Olive oil, butter, avocado, peanut butter, nuts, for starters. I looked back a week or so in your diary and it looks like you're eating plenty and have some pretty high calorie burns recorded. What are you doing to burn an extra +600 cals a day? You…
  • Generally, this would not be the case. The more milk you're producing, the more calories you're burning. Most mothers who are nursing toddlers (especially 2+ year olds) are not making nearly the amount of milk they were when their newborns and infants were exclusively nursing at least every 2-3 hours around the clock.
  • I'm letting my daughter self-wean and I waited until she was just about to turn two before starting weight loss (I gained 88 lbs during my pregnancy. Yipes.). I waited until two yrs old because she's never been a big solid food eater and was still getting a lot of her nutrition through breast milk. She's three now and it's…
  • It's going to take however long it takes. I was in the same boat you are: I gained 88 lbs while pregnant. I have lost 80 of those lbs in 14 months (but the last 8 lbs have taken me four months to lose). I eat well most of the time, have dessert everyday, and even hit my favorite Indian buffet from time to time. Make…
  • When we go to our favorite Indian restaurant for their buffet once every few months, all thoughts of calories or accurately logging said calories goes straight out the window.
  • That sounds like a one-way ticket to constipation land!
  • Check out the book Eat Well, Lose Weight While Breastfeeding. It was recommended to me by La Leche League ladies and was very helpful. I was one of those people who gained weight while breastfeeding (it certainly didn't fall off like it does for some), but now I've lost 80 lbs all while continuing to breastfeed.
  • No loss for a week and a half isn't a plateau, however looking at your diary it doesn't look like you're using a food scale. Weigh those bananas (and everything else). You may be eating a lot more than you think you are.
  • Your user name coupled with this post is a bit disturbing. If you want to know what it's like to starve yourself to death, watch the movie The Sound of Insects. After viewing that film you will want to eat all the foods (after a brief period of nausea from how harrowing and upsetting that movie is).
