  • I typically weigh in when I go to the gym... whenever I make it there.

  • Way to go! Excellent job on staying committed to your fitness goal. Don't forget to keep fit now that you reached your goal.
  • In this case, I'm still going with the extra weight being attributed to muscle gain. Reason being, nothing was mentioned about a calorie deficit (eating less and healthier ≠ calorie deficit), the pants size decreased, and since a work out play was mentioned, I'm assuming that is a new lifestyle addition. In this particular…
  • If you're full you shouldn't push yourself to eat more. Typically it isn't healthy to eat a large amount of food right before bed anyways (reference article: http://fitnessblackbook.com/diet-tips/is-it-okay-to-eat-right-before-going-to-bed-yes-and-no/ )... and in most cases, depending on what you eat, 330 calories might be…
  • I like John McCann's Steel Cut Oatmeal every morning. I find the texture of the steel cut oats to be much more enjoyable than the mushy texture of the rolled oats. I usually eat a quarter cup with one whole organic banana and non-fat milk. Sometimes I'll switch it up a bit with berries or minced pear or minced apples.

  • My understanding is this... when you first start working out, you may gain weight (depending on how active a person you are outside of working out) because you are working out your muscles (even if you're only doing cardio). When you workout, your muscles grow. Muscles weigh more than fat. People often have the…
  • Great job with staying on track everyone! Thanks for keeping me motivated! Finished the swimmer's press with 25lbs. Drank 64oz of water. Going to get some mileage in my new minimalist running shoes (Vibram FiveFingers Bikila LS).
  • I've found that the key to losing fat is doing something that keeps your interests and makes losing the fat fun. I like it best when fitness is more fun and less of a chore. After work I've been doing hot yoga three times a week, boxing bootcamp twice a week, and coed casual soccer on the weekends. I'm usually having so…
