I picked up Skyrim on the Switch to play on a trip this past week, which makes it the 4th platform I own the game on, PC, PS4 and XB1 the others. I was surprised how well it runs on the Switch and how nice it looks, I didn't play as much as I had planned to, but it was a nice distraction from flying. I dunno that I think…

30+ hours into Metal Gear Solid V, amazing game on almost every level. There's some repetition mission wise, but the amount of equipment and ways you can infiltrate bases for missions is amazing. I don't know how this game exists, but I'm really glad it does.

Yeah, definitely not. It does have split screen tho, so if you have a good sized TV, it's pretty fun couch coop.

The last 4-5 years, I've gotten $750 in Visa Gift Cards from work. Usually depends on if we've had a good year. Before that they tried just adding the bonus to our payroll check, but then there was a nightmare situation with claiming it on taxes, so they went back to the Visa cards.

Killzone's SP campaign is pretty generic and uninspired, but the MP stuff is great. Games like Cal of Duty and Battlefield rarely get dinged for their lackluster singleplayer, but Killzone seems to be taking a beating purely because of it. A lot of sites had reviews up for the game without even trying the MP in the game.

Sony sold over 1 million PS4s in 24 hours, more than any PlayStation and console in history has sold in the first 24 hours. Pretty nuts, and good for them, they've been working their corporate assets off to climb back from the PS3 launch.

Yeah, loving mine so far, picked up Knack, Lego Marvel Super Heroes and Killzone on Amazon as part of their Buy 2 Get 1 Free deal, Knack is probably my favorite so far, just feels like a great throwback to old PlayStation platformers like Crash Bandicoot, and playing on normal is pretty challenging. Have at least 17…

Ooops, wrong article. http://couchjockeyz.com/mp3-support-dlna-and-more-features-to-follow-on-2nd-ps4-update/

Heads up, MP3 and DLNA server support is coming in a post launch firmware update. Sony didn't get the functionality through certification before the 1.5 firmware for launch was finalized, so it's very likely they will be in the next update within a few weeks of launch, alongside the Suspend/Resume game capability. I spoke…

Dunno how techy you or your husband are, but you can softmod a Wii even without a working optical drive and just play games off of a hard drive plugged into the USB port. I had a Wii with a bad DVD drive that I softmodded, backed up all of my games to a small 2.5" external HD, and it's been pretty awesome. Games load SO…

Wii was an underrated console that had some amazing titles, even if most were 1st party. - Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 - Boom Blox and Boom Blox Bash Party - Dead Space: Extraction - Donkey Kong Country Returns - Elebits - Excitebots: Trick Racing - Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn - Guilty Party - Ju-On: The Grudge - Sin & Punishment:…

Aaand...Watchdogs delayed. http://kotaku.com/watch-dogs-delayed-until-spring-2014-1445647171 Crazy that they would wait this close to launch to delay it. Wonder if they're just trying to get it out of the way of Assassin's Creed IV to keep them from cannibalizing sales on each other.

Picked up X and Y over the weekend for my son since he had a $40 ToyRUs gift card from his last birthday party and TRU was having a "Buy 1 Get One 40% Off" on 3DS games, so it ended up being around $28 for both. Never been into a Pokemon game before, have tried a few times and just got kind of bored. Sunday while my son…

Launch PS4 is paid for on Amazon, Playstation Plus subscription is re-upped til early 2015. Free Resogun and Driveclub Day One are going to be pretty amazing.
-
I was going to, but now going to wait and check it out on the PS4 when it launches. Seems like a good gamepad controlled game, and sounds like there will be crosplay between the PC and PS4, which is cool.

The problem with the shutdown is that those idiots still get paid, while civilian workers go unpaid until it's over, and then may or may not receive back pay for the time the govt was closed. I agree in principle, if they all somehow suffered for the govt closing, it would be something worth celebrating. Unfortunately, the…

Between myself, my wife, and 2 kids, I've been paying $850/month for health insurance here in Colorado for almost 2 years, so while I sympathize, I've already been there. Part of the time I worked at AT&T, insurance for my entire family was free. Within 8 years it has spiraled into the cost of 2 car payments per month. If…

One effect of the shutdown: At the National Institutes of Health, nearly three-quarters of the staff was furloughed. One result: director Francis Collins said about 200 patients who otherwise would be admitted to the NIH Clinical Center into clinical trials each week will be turned away. This includes about 30 children,…

I posted this in my updates, but I thought I'd put it here, since I think it's relevant: A lady that works here part time for little more than minimum wage signed up for her and her 2 kids for $19/month on the ACA market site this morning. She didn't even know it had gone live today, was ecstatic when I told her and she…

PC by a large margin, but I do have a Launch Day PS4 is already paid off on Amazon, I may pick up an XBO sometime next year, but I want to see how devoted MS is the gaming part of their gaming console first. Sony has an army of internal studios developing games for their systems (14 1st party, almost a dozen 2nd party),…

Pretty much everything comes with a Steam key from Humble Bundle unless otherwise noted on their site.

I'm a huge Dead Rising fan, so I'll be picking up an XBO at some point, probably next holiday season, then I'll be able to buy the game for a song. I figure MS might drop the price on the system by then, maybe pull out the Kinect completely, but even if not, I kind of expect a price drop regardless. I'm not a big Halo fan,…

I do this thing where I correct incorrect grammar and spelling with more, different incorrect grammar and spelling. It's usually hilarious.

Waiting for TWO SOULS! *badumdum* Heavy Rain was a flawed game but a great experience, like most of David Cage's titles. I'll be picking up Beyond: TS at some point, and I hope the Sorcerer tech demo from E3 from the February announcement turns into something in his next game, because it was pretty great.

Motorstorm: Pacific Rift Infamous 1/2 Uncharted 2 Just lately, Stealth, Inc.

Confirmed by Rockstar to be PS3 footage, so makes me a little more comfortable pre-ordering. Seemed to be running great. red Dead obviously had a few issues on the PS3, not game breaking, but still, good to see they're stepping it up this time around.

Multiplayer is amazing. I never play games online, and I have probably 35 hours into the MP game. It's one of the few MP modes I've ever seen that just feels like a natural extension of the SP campaign.

Was F5'ing the Amazon PS4 page leading up to the end of the E3 press conference, got in on a launch edition pretty quick. Pre-ordered Watchdogs and Killzone, may end up getting Knack, too, haven't decided for sure. PS4 is also going to have Planetside 2 and Warframe at launch, both Free 2 Play games and don't require Plus…
