down 126lbs since 2/1/22
Finally broke a buck twenty five a few days ago, and finally under 300lbs for the first time in well over a decade. I've been putting in at least an hour a day of exercise, I usually try to do more, but work sometimes interferes. I've also been limiting food intake to 3-9pm, which has been mostly successful, although we…

Gamertags/PSN IDs/Origin&Steam IDs
Dunno if anybody is interested in it, but I thought I would throw my IDs for all the various platforms I game on, and anyone else who would like to add me or share theirs is welcome to if they choose. XBL: Krakn3dfx (Only really play Gears stuff on my 360, and usually only horde mode) PSN: Krakn3dfx Origin: Krakn (just…

VR gaming as a workout option
Over the holidays, I picked up an Oculus Rift when they were $350 to see if it was something I would get into. I spent some time with Fallout 4 VR, VRChar, OrbisVR, and a couple of other smaller titles, but then I was at a friend's house over the weekend and played some AudioShield, and wow, after about 20 minutes, I was…

7 days til Fallout 4
It's been 5 years since New Vegas and 7 years since Fallout 3, we're now a week away from Fallout 4. As someone who loved both 3 and NV but took a special shine to New Vegas, I'm curious to see what Bethesda does this time around. 3 was an amazing game, but the things Obsidian did to build on their mechanics like Hardcore…

So is it 1200 NET calories, or just 1200 calories?
This has probably been covered, and I probably read it, but since I tend to lose interest in anything longer than a post on Twitter unless it's in audiobook form, I just need verification on way or the other. When people talk about eating at least 1200 calories a day, is that 1200 Net calories that I need to be up after…

Minecraft is out on the PS3
In the "Things That Shouldn't Take This Long To Happen" column, Minecraft is out on the PS3 today, with PS4 and Vita versions coming next year. It looks like it's basically just a straight port of the XBox 360 version, so it will have a set world size (you'll hit artificial walls if you walk to far in one direction, unlike…

Lacrosse Kickstarter from maker of College/NLL XBLA games
I tend to be pretty skeptical of most Kickstarters, but this studio has made several college and NLL lacrosse games on the Xbox 60 that have been pretty good for the $5 price tag they have on them, so I was pretty excited to see he's planning to 'up his game' as it were and release a full fledged retail lacrosse game for…

Don't Starve! (No, the game is called Don't Starve)
I've been playing a game on Steam (also available on gog.com for those who don't like Steam) called Don't Starve, an overhead survival game kind of in the vein of Minecraft, but with a vastly different visual style, along with separate hunger/health/and sanity meters that you have to maintain while you explore the world,…

New GTA 5 trailer, Jeeps driving out of cargo planes? Check
http://t.co/DxA2URSO So excited about the possibilities of this game. I was let down by how little environmental interaction 4 had compared to San Andreas, looks like Rockstar might have actually listened to fans and put all that back and more into 5.

Halloween games you play
For me, it's Condemned: Criminal Origins. That game scares the holy hell out of me every time I play it. Anyone else have a game that freaks them out playing in the dark?

$12 off game pre-orders on Newegg right now
Pre-orders on games $49.99 or more on Newegg are $12 off right now with code EMCJNJD242. I don't pre-order many games, but I snagged Halo 4 for $48 as a XMas gift for my son and Bioshock Infinite for $38 when it comes out next year. Not sure how long this is going on, but kind of a nice deal. Don't expect to get the games…

Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams out today
http://project-giana.com/ Not a lot of buzz on this one, but if you like platformers like Super Mario Bros (the original Giana Sisters was pretty much a direct clone of SMB), I would definitely recommend checking this out. The game is beautiful, have a nice retro rock soundtrack, and the control are solid. It's like $1.50…

Black Mesa is out. Kind of.
http://www.blackmesasource.com/ Today is the day Black Mesa, the Half Life 1 fan remake using the Source engine, comes out. The site is currently getting hammered, but whenever people can actually get to a place to download it, it promises to be pretty cool. It's also being added to Steam, although I'm not sure when. If…

Almost 70lbs down
Started last summer, took a break like a moron in the winter, put 20lbs back on, started up again in May, I'm right at 70lbs down now. Thought I would post a pic showing me with the same shirt at my peak as well as where I am now. Looking forward to shaving off the next 70lbs with no breaks by next Spring hopefully.

Maybe you've seen Fallout 3, but you've never SEEN Fallout 3
http://www.flickr.com/photos/83889674@N02/ This guy loaded up some more current texture and lighting mods in the PC version of Fallout 3 and took some pictures. Hard to believe these images are taken from a 2008 game. I've done some modding on New Vegas, but I think I'm going to spend some time this weekend sprucing up…

Guild Wars 2 release date announced
"It's going to be the future soon for denizens of Tyria, as ArenaNet reveals an August 28 release date for the eagerly anticipated massively multiplayer free-to-play role-playing game Guild Wars 2." Finally! Good beta weekends, had a lot of fun, can't wait to jump into the world and not have to worry about it wrapping up…

Diablo 3 - Accidentally sold my Staff of Herding
So if you've assembled the pieces for the Staff of Herding, you probably know that it's a huge f'ing hassle. It's also bound to you, so you can't auction it off or give it away. But apparently you can sell it to vendors in the game pretty easily! I don't even understand why this should be possible. In what world would I…

My new favorite PC game: Krater
So there's a new game out called Krater, you can make a lot of similarities to other games about it. It has an overhead isometric view like Diablo/Fallout 1/2, has loot, has multi-character parties, a big, open world, random dungeon and over world encounters. An more apt comparison might be Baldur's Gate from Bioware…

Comic-Con: Anyone been, going this year?
As part of the "Be A Good Dad And Give Your Kids Every Opportunity to Experience The Richness of Life" Campaign (spearheaded by my wife), we are taking a road trip to San Diego in July for Comic Con 2012. I've seen the pictures from previous Comic Cons, and as a man knocking on 40 who hates crowds to the point where Costco…

Indie Game the Movie is out, highly recommended
Indie Game the Movie just released online yesterday for $10 through their website, http://www.indiegamethemovie.com. You can also buy it on Steam, but it's a DRM'd version, if you buy it directly from them you can copy it to your phone/tablet. stream it to a TV, etc. I watched it last night and it's probably the best movie…
