  • Thank you for this! I too find that IF after 5 until the morning works really well for me. This is inspiring me to try incorporating that more into my routine, when possible. Awesome job! Also, holy moly do I hear you on the eating out of habit thing. I work in a school and feel the need to inhale my food as quickly as…
  • My favorite thing to do with zucchini noodles is heat them up with some pesto and slice some kind of (low carb, obviously) sausage over the top. SO GOOD. I love bringing it to work because it heats up perfectly in the microwave. Costco sells pretty cheap pesto!
  • I second all the IF suggestions. I have really been trying to listen to my body and realized this week that I am not always hungry for dinner, but was eating it out of habit. I always feel best when I have a larger lunch, afternoon snack, and then little to nothing for dinner. Good luck!
  • Some things work for different people. It's about finding what works for you. I have recently started using MFP to work on the "final stretch" of my weight loss/fitness journey... I have been gradually working on a relatively low carb, high protein/fat diet for going on five years and have lost nearly 50 lbs in the…
  • I hear you. I struggle with this on an almost daily basis working in an elementary school. One good thing for me is that I have a gluten intolerance so most of the baked goods are off limits (the pain I get from it is NOT worth it at all... took me awhile to learn that). I have recently started a new thing that has been…
  • I still eat dairy, but try to monitor my cheese intake mostly because of sodium levels. I replaced half and half with heavy whipping cream in my coffee, and eat full fat greek yogurts, kefirs, etc. I'm not a huge breakfast eater, but I like to make up breakfast patties of either ground turkey or beef that are easy to…
  • same thing happened with me. I find the second days with any of her DVDs to be way easier, just because I was more familiar with the exercises. keep at it... you will impress yourself very soon :)
  • I too love spaghetti squash with meat sauce, but this recipe is my new favorite: http://www.janssushibar.com/creamy-pumpkin-pasta/ sooo good!
  • I drink a ton of tea at night after dinner to help me with my late night sweet tooth :)
  • to get your heart rate up, sit in a chair and do punches! you'd be amazed and how quickly that gets things going. if you get to a point where you can stand, even better. get well soon!
  • weird... I just finished a JM workout and was wondering if anyone posted about how to not feel nauseous post workout with ANY food in your stomach (I have a crazy masters program and my free time is also eating time). I do best with these workouts when I eat something like almonds about an hour before a workout, if I can.…
  • I agree completely! Edit - Oops, didn't have the post I was replying to. I meant about the seltzer water!!
  • incredible! keep up the hard work :)
  • I've made a curry using diced sweet potatoes that is still requested usually every week. just add the yams/sweet potatoes to a pan with oil and add a scrambled egg, green onion, curry powder, salt, pepper, a little brown sugar, and I usually add a tiny bit of garam masala. as it cooks and starts to stick, I'll add a…
  • I like mixing salsa into cottage cheese, or spooning some into the middle of an avocado half (which is relatively low carb).
  • I have the evening munchies quite often, and I've found that making peppermint tea instead really helps!
  • I am mostly... I am a grad student so I drink too many coffees and have chocolate that's not always dark, but I usually always make sure I have room in the carb range for those. Feel free to add!
  • I really like this flax meal crust recipe when I'm craving pizza: http://www.ibreatheimhungry.com/2012/01/zero-carb-flax-meal-pizza-crust.html During the summers I also like grilling sliced eggplant and making pizza towers with them!
  • I'm so, so sorry. My dog of 16 years had to be put down two days before my birthday. It was absolutely awful - My thoughts are with you during this hard time!!
  • I've noticed that I don't have to eat as much to feel satisfied, especially on days where I'm not getting a lot of exercise. That may have something to do with it. Also, intermittent fasting really works well for me when I'm in the right conditions (I don't like to fast much when I'm busy/physically active during the day…

  • Are you taking any measurements? I looked at your food diary and it all looks good to me. I noticed you are tracking sodium - I am as well, because I am VERY sensitive to it and high sodium days can lead to up to 8lb fluctuations. My weight loss if very slow as well, but I'm aiming for a more realistic/sustaining…
  • You may want to try to limit your grain/bread intake. I find it pretty difficult to get to 50 carbs/day when I choose to not have any grains/flour-y things. Those things add up extremely quick and I personally don't find them to be very sustaining. Do you bake? I know there are recipes out there using almond and coconut…
