Part of the stress is finding the time for yourself. Spending it chilled out on the couch over coffee in the morning or other beverages in the evening doesnt relieve it. Make some time to MOVE, go for a walk, get up early to work out, hit a class at the gym...develop new habits that get you physical. The endorphins will…

i love my immersion blender, but just rediscovered my pampered chef salad chopper! been making some fun salads with lots of new ingredients...packed with veggies! dont even need the dressing!

i too, have not seen the scale move much, and i try not to let that bother me, but i am feeling more toned, and am wearing a smaller size pant. utlimately, i would love to be more toned, regardless of my weight. i like to think i'm building muscle and improving my metabolism.

I am loving the wieght training classes. power pump, boot camp, ex fit, etc. If your gym offers those-give it a try! Also, most gyms offer instruction on the weights for new members. or do one session with a personal trainer to learn. if you get into building some muscle, work in cardio after, you should see some results.

you can add me...i'm slow going but in the for the long haul :)

if you are a girl with muscles, you will be able to maintain your muscle tone and weight, as you grow older, alot easier than the non muscled group, who will forever be "dieting", while you maintain an active lifestyle!

"I have been at the same weight for 2.5 months now, but I am fitting into sizes I never could before. I know I should be thrilled and I am but the scale number does bother me, but it should not determine my level of success. I am doing things I could never do before, I can lift heavier, have more endurance, etc. " i…

Wow-I was holding the pity party for myself, after a year in pain with a whiplash induced headache, which led to a clinical depression, and gallons of wine later-a very plump body! You guys rock-just listening (reading) to your stories and what you have overcome is motivation for me!!! congrats on overcoming the odds, and…

i want to try this!

I managed to get out of bed and do a beach run/walk BEFORE work today!
-
okay: how about some beans and rice (or another grain) :)
-
add some veggies! or try some ground turkey, you can add it to pasta, or saute an onion with it and add some frozen veggies. Carrots and celery last awhile in the fridge and are a good go to snack.
-
try a 5K or 10 K race...or a triathalon! that will motivate you!

Log every day...it will really make you think about what is going into your body. My first lesson on MFP: if I work out...I can eat more! Exercise is really important!
-
what a great accomplishment!
-
Dont use the scale as your guide! Look what you have accomplished without even looking at the scale! Take some measurements, if you havent already, so you can see progress in your size, too.
-
bjohs-that was a great blog!
-
Try some ACTIVities that you could do together, that burn some calories, and promote the QUALITY time for the two of you...if you can get him active, the rest will fall in line.
-
wow! that was quick! great accomplishment!

if you have been on track, one treat day shouldnt change the scale that much. eat normally, dont starve yourself before hand, if you have cocktails on an empty stomach-you will feel worse the next day! make good food choices while you are out, and alternate a non alcohol beverage for every cocktail you order!

I think another thing to consider for coffee drinkers...is many of us drink several cups BEFORE we even eat anything. I'm questioning whether I should EAT something first, get my metabolism jump started, instead of waiting an hour or two after i'm up and about to touch food.

Yes, I hear you! I dont necessarily want to abstain forever, but I just seem to struggle day to day with just one glass. One's not enough and two is too many. And I'm in charge of a wine tasting for a work event tomorrow night. I know my weight gain was partly the gallons of wine i consumed in a haze of depression, which…
