I wouldn't call it my favorite way, but look into Nom Nom Paleo's Spicy Tuna Cakes recipe- uses sweet potato and canned tuna, which sounds gross in theory but they're surprisingly savory. I drizzle them with mustard and eat as-is, or smashed into a FlatOut flatbread wrapped up like a burrito w/veggies.

Measuring foods for correct portion size is step one in most eating healthy guidelines. That being said, I don't go to the extent of weighing and go by a combination of eyeballing and the package weight when using meat. Should ask my mom to ship my food scale back now that I've settled in upon relocating though.

Refrigerating tomatoes causes a chemical reaction that makes them mealy and flavorless- do not refrigerate them unless you want to sacrifice flavor. On counter out of heat/light is your best bet- maybe eat more in your salads so you finish them in 3 days? Haven't found a method that works well for the smaller tomatoes, so…

Nice work!

This. I also see a difference in your face, but given the angle and that the outfit itself is baggy... it's hard to see change.

Calories can't tell time.

You're going to hear from people who strongly think you should eat all your calories back (since your MFP totals are already set at a deficit), people who think you shouldn't bother to eat back your calories (if you aren't hungry because you'll lose weight faster) and people who will say to eat some or half of your…

I occasionally get that feeling in my right foot when I run too long- no idea what the cause is medically but I've noticed it's specifically when the exercise has become really repetitive and I'm no longer focusing on having good form/pushing myself. Which isn't to say to stop doing it, or that you're not doing well, but…

Rhubarb is delicious and I never knew how to cook it... 1/4c sugar sounds like a lot though (I don't even keep sugar in the house)... Edit: researched it, 1/4c white sugar is just under 200 cals. Thought it would be more, I guess.

I go for the lower amount, MFP is kind of known for overestimating burn. A HRM will give you the best idea of actual burn.

Sagging skin is pretty much a guarantee- particularly when you go from one extreme to another and research shows it's more likely when weight loss is rapid. That being said, I'd rather lose the weight and focus on maintaining than worry so much about potential skin sag and not try my best to lose. The benefits of weight…

This isn't Yahoo answers, and you clearly are 12 and too young for this site. If your parents have a problem with you being on the phone it's probably who they think you're talking to. Unless you're Amish or something and disagree with your parents' anti-technology beliefs. Regardless, this isn't the place for that topic,…

Good first steps. Continue cutting soda and other useless calories that don't have nutritional value. Cut out processed foods and incorporate more fruits/vegetables. Luckily it seems like you don't dine out too often, and cooking at home is much healthier so that's a plus. Keep increasing your water intake. Consider adding…

Rewards have to be things that you get excited about: for some it's massages, mani/pedi, salon/hair appointments. For others it's new workout clothes, new shoes (athletic or otherwise), jewelry/purse, or even getting a particular DVD/game or seeing a movie out. Totally up to you- but it's a little self-defeating for it to…

Just went up Friday, haven't gotten around to it myself.

OP, maybe tell us what exercises you've been doing that aren't having results. Cardio loses weight- running, biking, jogging, aerobic dance, zumba, etc. Find what you enjoy in order to stick with it- or at least what you dislike most. Body weight exercises and strength training will increase your strength and muscle mass,…

AYCE sushi. Perks of living in Vegas. Within reason- sashimi and nigiri, maybe a roll or two to split with my guy, and soup/salad apps. Not something to do on a regular day, but worth splurging for without hating myself after. Usually.

Want a Fitbit, ruled out fuelband because no one else uses Nike's units- Fuelpoints? whatever the hell they're called.

I just don't shower between workouts- keep hair up during workout and dry off really well, I particularly like using the cool blast setting on the hair dryer. Don't have a smell issue, and once I'm no longer physically sweaty, I feel fine. I rinse off after second workout, but only wash hair two or three times a week-…

This is actually specific to my other favorite website, Yelp: when people post multiple reviews for the same business. I don't give a **** if you go to that same cafe ten times, you don't need to write ten separate reviews, all of them 4-stars. You're not doing anything productive, and it's giving you a falsely inflated…

My students have a half day for finals, and we have permission to take an hour lunch off campus- taking advantage today since I brought in leftovers Monday. Going to Cafe Zupas for a soup-sandwich combo, only eating half the sandwich- sounds delicious but cals are astronomical. Maybe I should pick a different one, but it…

Not using it as a conscious goal, but several of my cousins (whom I haven't seen in north of a decade) have recently gotten engaged- kind of hoping I get a wedding invite as an excuse to visit, and I want to go in the best shape I can be. I was always the fat cousin from Texas that didn't fit in with my dad's…

Narrowly evaded car accidents and likely came close to an overdose, but no, not really. Have you ever smoked crack?

don't overeat, maintain activity, stay within your cals without running a deficit

Happy for you, OP!

I am by no means condoning bullying, but fat pride is different from fat acceptance- yes, it is technically possible to be healthy and fat just as it is possible to be unhealthy and skinny. But I'm frankly tired of the constant need to be politically correct. If you're happy with yourself, that's all that matters. If other…

It started out good- my work was having a barbecue and I knew a burger was a bad idea. So I left for healthier options. The thai place was closed (damn you, Mondays!), the sushi place was closed (WTH!), and the brunch place looked busy... So I went to a tiny Italian place, was unimpressed with their salad selection, but…
