Sagging skin worries

My BMI is 32. I have stretch marks all over my hips and my lower stomach, and my arms are wide and flabby. I've read that you don't have to worry so much about the sagging skin problem unless you're like morbidly obese, but is that true? Is there any way to guarantee that I won't end up with saggy skin other than losing weight at an extremely slow, difficult pace?

Even then, there is a definite possibility. Do not slow your weight loss on purpose to try and avoid it - as long as you are losing as a rate that is normal and healthy, and drinking a lot of water, you're doing all that anybody can do. A lot of this is up to your age and the natural elasticity of your skin.

Being healthy is more important than avoiding extra skin, though! Good luck :)

Sagging skin is pretty much a guarantee- particularly when you go from one extreme to another and research shows it's more likely when weight loss is rapid.

That being said, I'd rather lose the weight and focus on maintaining than worry so much about potential skin sag and not try my best to lose. The benefits of weight loss are far more than just physical appearance.

Seems like being 79 pounds overweigh would put you into the obese or mobidly obese category (depending on height). Not sure you can avoid sagging skin at this point even with your yound age, but it will help.

It depends on genetics and skin elasticity as well. I started at a BMI around 40, my BMI is now 27. I have to sagging skin and don't think that I will. I've lost in general an average of 1-2 lbs a week but now I'm focusing on starting lifting to finish my weight loss so I don't have a timeline to lose the rest because I'll be eating at a smaller deficit.
