Fabulous start. Amazing losses!!!

Just a quick sign in and message from Bremen. (Home of the famous Town Musicians of Bremen - a donkey, a dog, a cat and a rooster). I read that fasting was a good way to overcome jet lag. Don't eat during the day of your (overnight) flight, go to bed without eating at your destination, get up the next morning with the sun…

Thank you everyone. I will be gone for 8 days - off to Germany. Will be late checking in next week - not home until late Wednesday night. Might wait until Friday morning for a weigh in. Can't imagine what stepping on the scales just a few hours after such a long plane trip. See you then.

Yep, mine is at the end of this month and I already have a big jug that I will have to fill with the nasty stuff. Encouraged that I will be fasting though.
-
Good work on the breakthrough! Keep going.

The most sobering thing about seeing everyone's meals is portion size. I think my portions are wayyy too big. And then you all say you couldn't finish it. You weren't hungry anymore. I'm looking forward to getting to that stage!
-
Agree not to worry. I have been called back so many times for a followup mammo, etc, but it always turns out to be nothing. Be glad your drs are diligent, but don't worry.

This morning I was reading Upton Sinclair's book on fasting, and thinking of you. I feel so lucky to have found this group - with so many wise people. I am learning lots of valuable things from your experiences.
-
Wise words. I need to listen to them too.
-
LOL, it's your day 21. It's good to hear you're back on track and feeling determined!
-
Incredibly good news. You are an inspiration for me. Especially your daily posts.
-
What a fantastic list. #8, #9, #10 - those are especially endearing to hear.
-
It's a joy to read your journal, Jason! Stronglifts plus OMAD. Plus averaging more than 1#/wk weight loss. You are killing it.

Absolutely get help for so much pain! I used to have back pain on planes, but found that I could prevent it by taking a large handful of aspirin before any plane trip. Not what I admit to anyone who would scold me for it! Especially not my doctor. But your pain sounds a lot worse than mine. I have a lot of crushed…

Thank you everyone, for all the encouragement. I will weigh in tomorrow, presumably the news won't be all bad. I'm down a pound right now, even after having a houseguest for 4 days, and giving a dinner party on Saturday.
-
Welcome Thad, Kelli, Suzie, Malik! This is a great place to be.
-
Agree. Avoiding a blood sugar coma, not zonking on the couch after eating. Heaven!
-
Ha! Yay for the fat!
-
Agree with @blambo61 - stay away from sugar and carbs. When I indulge in these things, my body swells, my knees get bad, my old shoulder injury flares up.
-
Headache went away and you are happy! First, great news! Congratulations! Second, do you think this is due to your new OMAD eating? You said "Must be the fasting". By that, do you mean just eating OMAD? Or are you fasting for more than 24 hours? I'm seriously interested in finding the best way to have a clear brain while…
-
@mikseyniha Your 65:25:10 ratio. Is that protein:fat:carbohydrate?
-
Fantastic news. Congratulations!
-
Great news!
-
YaY! Your success is such good news!!
-
Low blood pressure. Tall girls know a lot about this! When I was tall and skinny (6' 150#), this would happen often when I stood up. Nonetheless, get it checked out.

Would you like to speculate on the adages 'a calorie is a calorie' and 'calories in, calories out'? I think of a pound as 3600 calories. Losing 2 pounds/day means deficits of 7200 calories. Suppose I assume your body adjusts for water after a few days. What does that continuing loss of 2#/day mean? What IS your body doing?
-
Your report of consistent energy is encouraging. Our bodies know how to adjust! (I just have to be consistent.)

Can't wait until I get to that stomach-shrinking stage. I guess everyone knows I flunked Weight Watchers. When I was under their plan, one of the rules was you could have as many vegetables as you wanted. Once I reported that I ate a whole family-sized bag of frozen broccoli. All the proper ladies freaked out.
