Is there a point to this thread?

Insanity is no joke. It's amazing for sky-rocketing your cardio. I loved how much stamina it gave me. However, jogging for 45 minutes burns more calories which can be more productive if fat loss is your goal.

It doesn't matter. Everyone's preference to when they want to eat is different. Do whatever feels natural to you. Personally, I don't eat my first meal until 3PM. The only thing I am stressing is the people that are advising the poster to "eat more often" to help with her weight loss don't know their facts and are giving…

You miss the entire point of the study. The underlying fact is meal frequency has absolutely nothing to do with metabolic rate. There is no hard scientific evidence backing that eating three meals a day is better or worse for you in any way. It shouldn't even be thought of or considered while achieving fat loss. It's a…

I feel your frustration. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19943985 Also, it's been proven the metabolic rate doesn't show any change until approximately 72 hours of fasting and no IF method teaches that.

Proven false. Source: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19943985

Tell me about it, brotha. It feels like I'm constantly in a debate whenever someone discusses fitness with me.

My thoughts exactly. I was going to use this example before I saw your post. The Twinkie Diet: http://www.cnn.com/2010/HEALTH/11/08/twinkie.diet.professor/index.html Weight loss is irrelevant to how healthy the food you ingest is so long as your calorie restriction is in place and exercised regularly. My starting weight…

lol. niiiice.

Well, first you have to ask yourself, "How long has it been since my last real workout?" If it has been a long time it probably simply is just because you're out of shape. A while back I took a year off from exercising, gained a ton of weight, and when I decided to get back into gear I started off with Beachbody's…

My suggestion: Stop drinking soda. Ignore the pain from headaches. Do what you need to get done that day regardless of energy loss. Do this until it feels natural. Good luck!

Or just not a vegan.

It's a protein supplement often used in shakes or drinks. I'm unsure what the scientific differences are but, it's supposed to be more of a "natural" protein than the tradition protein supplements. However, I only consume whey protein because i'm a vegetarian. If I were not, I would eat all of my protein from lean meat and…

Gotcha.

You're right & thank you for the advice.

Done. Thank you... again. :)

Thanks, Jim. I recognize you from my IF inquiry a while back. I've decided to go with the Leangains approach. I'm currently just over 155lbs and have set my calories to 2,000 daily (BMR @ 1,700) at 40/40/20. You suggest starting just at my BMR?
-
Thanks, Rachel. Yeah, I've had myself set up for 40% carbs/ 40% Protein/ 20% fat.

I never said I entered weight loss as a goal. There IS a setting in your MFP Goals where they give you the option of setting your goal to gaining 0.5lbs to 1lbs per week. I don't care what the number on my scale says anymore. Honestly, I only weigh myself once every 3 weeks out of curiosity. I'm simply looking to see if…

I'm lost. Was she some sort of MFP Forum celebrity?

Personally, I'm a vegetarian but, I am absolutely addicted to this food I make. Boca Patty (Tomato Basil flavor) Langendorf sesame hamburger bun Kraft Fat Free Cheese singles Large egg cooked over easy (To be placed on top of cheese and under lettuce) Lettuce leaf Ketchup & Mustard 325 Calories 36g Carbs 8g Fat 28g Protein…

You can't really beat $15 for a bucket of whey protein at the local Wal-Mart. lol

Nice work, brotha.

Very insightful. Thank you.

Hey, thanks.. Yeah, I eat the occasional egg whites and get a little bit of protein here and there.. The only difficult thing is I aim for around 200g of protein per day. Eggs and dairy don't exactly cover that. =)

I am a big fan of morning star. I actually just got to make some garden burgers today. The tomato basil is probably the best I've ever had.
-
Good ideas! Thanks!

Yes. And, actually, I love to cook. I just don't have the time or the means. Also, I love garden or boca burgers. I just about cream my pants every time I get the chance to make one. =)
