^^^^^^ Yeah there are also many not so educated people on this site.

Yes, but oh so good.

Good to hear. I take rest days when I need to recover. If I wasn't extremely sore in the legs from weight lifting, I wouldn't take a break either. However, one thing I noticed for myself is that I eat like crap when I try to take it easy in the gym or take a rest day. Ugh.

I usually do the 3 meals and 2-3 snacks schedule. On weekdays, I usually eat 500+ calorie breakfasts and 400 calorie for the other two meals. I snack in-between meals and also after dinner. That food schedule is only when I workout (some form of cardio minimum) that day. On weekends, I might eat bigger, but I usually have…

After reading the post, I checked the internet for additional information. It seems valid on the surface when I hit a plateau I will definitely try it. The basic strategy is to vary caloric intake every day based on the person's BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate) daily caloric intake. Example: Monday - Low caloric intake Tuesday -…

Best wishes. The food diary works great to help with the lifestyle change.

Are you also watching your caloric intake again? I read you need to create a calorie deficit based on your current caloric intake to lose weight. In your original post, you did not state whether you started counting calories. Also, a possible reason for no weight loss at the beginning could be that you are building muscle…

I gave up trying to limit my sodium. I eat a lot of processed food such as bread, sandwich meats, cheese, skillet dinners, etc. Only fast food I eat is Subway, which is extremely high in sodium. The only way I can see myself staying under MFP's suggested sodium intake is by eating fresh fruits and vegetables along with…

^^^ I subscribe to this same rule.

I usually broil, bake, grill red meat or chicken. I actually didn't know the calorie count would change that drastically. The only time I use pan frying with no calorie cooking spray is for eggs and fish. How much do the calories in red meat or chicken change from uncooked to broiling, baking, or grilling?

I try to stay under my caloric intake goal based on MFP's limit for me. On days that I work out, I rarely try to "eat back" all the calories I burned, but I eat enough where I am under MFP's caloric limit for me by 500 calories or so (really depends on the type of workout). There is a lot of good advice about what to eat.…

I used to workout 5-6 days a week. I am on my third rest day. For some reason, I cannot get motivated to get back in the gym. I end up laying on the couch for a nap after work. Fortunately, I am still watching my food intake.

It would help if your food diary was accessible. Exercise alone may not be enough to lose weight without tracking food intake.

Ground Beef 90/10 = 246 calories per 5 oz 150 g = 5.29 oz Your Meatball at minimum = 260 calories. Above is an EXTREME estimate. Sorry, I wish I could be of more help.

Do you know of anyone only eating apples? I would love to see how that lifestyle works.

Dude, I respect your dedication, but I think your diet may be too extreme. Also, are you exercising? A major worry is energy output. Do you feel tired? Or run down? Your caloric intake doesn't seem viable if you want to be somewhat active. According to your diary, you seem to have a focus on potassium. Have you tried…

Welcome Ericka, MFP is awesome. I started this summer without seriously faltering. The community can be really helpful. Best wishes.

I refer to this recipe as ghetto meals on the go! My Ghetto Quesadilla 2 Ole Extreme Wellness Tomato Basil Tortillas 2 Slices of Sargento Natural Pepper Jack Deli Style Monterey Jack Cheese 3 Tbsp Newman's Own Black Bean and Corn Salsa (Side Item) 3 Tbsp Daisy Light Sour Cream (Side Item) Low-Low/Medium heat both sides of…

Welcome!!! MFP is great. Very helpful.

Yep, the issue could be a host of many things. However, I suspect it's caloric intake. If you are eating 1200 calories (not 1200 "net" calories), then it is possible you aren't eating enough. After an hour workout depending on your workout, you could be burning anywhere from 400-1000 calories an hour. After subtracting the…

Not really. If I work out, I tend to go over the protein allowance. It's actually pretty normal.

Alrighty...this might work. Greek Yogurt Plain (Dannon Oikos is good). Skim Milk Ice Strawberries Depending on your diet restrictions, you can add banana too.

Welcome and best wishes!!!

Everyone has a way to motivate themselves. I just got tired of feeling sluggish and wondering what happened over the years. I think the website is helpful since it tracks all of my good and bad days. The lifestyle change isn't easy, but nothing in life comes easy when I think about it. So I just say what the hell, at least…

The post is correct. Many people are under the perception that sugar from fruit is good, however I have read that fructose (fruit sugar) is processed the same as other monosaccharides. Basically, fruits are good for us due to the large number of nutrients found in fruit. Consequently, people eating fruit can be a…
