i'd agree, I think a planned cheat on this or any other diet is a lot different from an unplanned cheat where you risk falling off the wagon completely. and i think even though your cheating 2 days in a row, you should still be fine if you limit the damage. For me the worst kind of cheat is those times when i say, ill just…

i'd cheat both days :)- just do plenty damage limitation before hand. hit the gym maybe before you head out to raise insulin sensitivity? do some air squats in the toilet cubicle :) , and maybe don't cheat in the mornings of the 2 days. ie only cheat at the actual party(s) keep the rest of the day slow carb. i wouldn't…

hmm i don't know about that, i mean we don't feed 7 billion people only 6 billion according to worldhunger.org 1 billion are starving world wide. grains (wheat, corn rice) make up the bulk of global calories, followed by startchy roots like potatoes, yams, casava. but if say grains stopped being produces, would they not…

well said I personally don't eat them as i think there too concentrate a form of carbohydrate, the same reasons i dont eat sugar. I'd rather eat something not so energy dense, like vegetables or fruit. But if i did eat them i would go for the whole grain variety. i think that in a way its a similar situation to dairy we…

ok thats some pretty decent lifts and times. so your saying up the protien as well. this is interesting and yeh I'm already eating 100 grams and i weigh 111 kg. would you say i should eat more than that?
-
yeh buuuuut lol you loose weight so fast! and you get to eat bacon and eggs lol. so you would say eat carbs on the day of training? before or after the session? whats your experiance, did it work for you?

Hi there I've got to say I've tried a paleo type diet and I've never felt better, fat loss was slow though and Platued pretty quickly. however i didnt get any fatter on it, and i felt like super man in the gym, I think when i loose the fat ill probably switch to a paleo type deal to keep it off
-
yeh they all have there slant i guess, as all film/tv does. but still interesting,
-
yeh this thread is pretty cool- i just watch that Fat Head, really interesting stuff.

I'd say some are kinda biased, not all. Supersize me is pretty biased they kinda just attack Mcdonalds, and pretty much blame them for the whole obesity epidemic. but there were fat people before mcdonalds existed. and i think almost everyone has the sense to know eating mcdonalds is not a healthy balanced diet. mcdonalds…

which knee is injured and what hand do you write with?

It doesn't mention Paleo, hunter gatherer or ancestoral diet , nor celiac in the whole article or the study, so we don't know that from the information provided here. we basically dont know what diet the low fiber groups were eating, as it dosen't say in the study. but unless there's whole countrys on the atkins/paleo…

this is the actual study http://www.bmj.com/content/343/bmj.d6617 the bbc report says that its only wholegrain fibre that reduces the risk. but the researchers conclusion suggests that its all fibre but whole grain fibre is better. quote " A high intake of dietary fibre, in particular cereal fibre and whole grains, was…

sorry your quite correct the study is comparingate fibre from whole grains. to those who ate fibre from other sources? but all the participants in all of the studys they looked at ate grains ? is this not the same thing? am i being a dumbass here? please feel free to point out if i am lol i wont take it personally
-
I got to agree you need to lift. and you can easily work round an knee injury. I mean yes you can loose weight without lifting you can also drive a car with one arm. but its better to use 2 I'd hit the weights and eat more!!! your starving, thats why you've hit a wall. I'm sure any of the regular lifters will draw you up a…

have you heard of this PRal thing?
-
King corn i thought was pretty good

i would see an immunologist, I mean increaseing your fruit and veg intake will probably help, eating more veg helps everything in my experiance. and excercise has been show to increase immune system regulation. but if your actually getting ill all the time- that's doctor territory that's what I'd do
-
i would take 2 weeks off this has happened to me before. I took 2 weeks off switched up everything when i went back my progress was even faster. unfortunatly last time i took a 2 week break it ended up being 2 years! hence the current fatness lol can i ask are you doing any resistance training?
-
you see that i could cope with. if i could get it to look like a scar semi perminanlt (like it does just now) I'd concider that a win. its just when its all flaky and nasty looking! so far 3 things i've tried have had an effect. so far this no grain thing seems to be working. I dont eat sugar either, so maybe its the 2…

this is starting to make sense, apparently eczema and psoriasis have some kind of link, If i remember correctly from what I have read, there are no cases of anyone having both conditions, and it appears on the surface that they might actually be the same or similar conditions (an auto immune reaction) but with slightly…
-
lol well mine has gone kinda funny, instead of having flaky crustiness, i know have shiny smooth red patches, like a burn or a scar thats almost healed. so we will wait and see. let me know how you get on with this please i'd be really interested to know.

Hi this is some pretty good information but its comparing eating whole grains to refined grains not whole grains to eating no grains. so lets say hypothetically, if it was grains that caused the cancer in the first place, (and i do mean if. its a big if i have no proof of the if). then this study would be similar to…
-
Hi sorry I should have said earlier- i dont have celiac- ( not that i know of) but i do have psoriasis. I was asking just out of curiosity, because i've stopped eating grains for a month and it appears to have cleared my psoriasis a little bit. but i think that could be placebo effect .

Brazilian black beans- my mum makes them and they are the bomb! Navy beans - ( although you can make this with pretty much any beans except maybe kidney) soak them overnight in a pan, in the morning empty the gunk out. cover the beans with water a good 2 inches over the beans sprinkle in a stock cube of your choice…

that happened to me once. I wouldn't let it bother you. anyone that is so insecure that they have to abuse a random person they've never met before because of there weight, to convince themself they are in some way superior to boost there own sense of self esteem ? well who has the problem here? I mean you can loose weight…

i'm not sure fruit is that bad, or necessarily the sugar in fruit is the same as a candy bar. I mean yes an apple has 19g of sugar- but remember that's not sugar as in table sugar (sucrose) its 3 different ones glucose, fructose and sucrose. in terms of calorie control- ie if your watching calories that's about 200cal for…

nice article! i like the bit about eating after 7- i've heard though that if you dont eat after 7 it can help people who are leptin resistant become more leptin sensitive. not sure how not eating after 7 would do this mind you, i mean what if your like me and wake up at 1 in the afternoon :)
-
oh no wait it does that too! lol I'm sold! I think its good because there is a lot of mis information out there about diet and fat loss and this way you can see everything you've been eating and judge for yourself, what works for you and what doesn't for instance- i eat a lot less calories per day than i thought- today…
