  • Slight geek over here :) Love most things sci-fi: Firefly, Star Trek (esp DSN and Original), Defiance, Dr Who, and all of Marvel  I love reading and favourite authors are Peter F. Hamilton, George R.R. Martin (though I'm worried he'll die before he finishes the series!), and Stephen King. I'm a bit of a gamer.…
  • I've just completed week 6  I'm currently using the treadmill and "running" at 7.7kph. I know everyone says don't worry about speed at the start, but for week 7 I'm aiming to up the speed by 0.1kph for each day to see how it feels.
  • I've just finished week 4 which was knackering! I'm currently running on a treadmill (I don't want to inflict my running on the public at large just yet!) feel free to add me
  • My point may have not came across, but dirtyflirty said it for me. We can teach about nutrition and exercise but if the kids are going home every night to stay inside and eat takeaways most of the time, then for most, that becomes the norm.
  • Umm yeah, it is. We teach about physical, social and emotional health actually. *mini rant moment* Why do schools have more and more responsibility chucked at them?! Is it too much to ask parents to parent?! *rant over over*
  • Recently got a fitbit flex for my b-day and would like friends to complete challenges with :) https://www.fitbit.com/user/3B2DRR
  • This sucks
  • I may belong here :) My cats are called Tiberius, Ezri and McCoy :) I read Game of Thrones way before the tv series (and I'm concerned that Mr Martin will die before he finishes the books!!!) I'm a Stephen king fan - love the stand and excited about the new film! Anime - I love FMA old version, not caught up on the newish…
  • I'm making more of an effort to go straight after work. Once I've changed into my gym gear, then mentally I'm good to go. I'm so not a morning person! Bad enough that I have to get up at 6am to get ready, getting up even earlier than that is never happening :\ Today was tough! Had meetings till 4:30 then didn't leave work…
  • I'd still log it. It may put you off doing it again once you've seen the results. No point crying over it though. It's done, live and learn. Go for the walk and try to stay positive. One day overeating won't undo all your work, it's when you keep over eating that the damage happens.
  • Are you in the UK? If so, since when was a size 12 fat? [/quote] I suspect the poster is American as she writes the date in month/day/year, if so then a us 12 is a uk 16. My moment, was more like a series of mini moments - buying size 16 tops for Christmas parties, seeing the photos, hating to look in the mirror, all…
  • 151lbs aiming to get as close to 140 as I can o:)
  • I'm in - will weigh myself today and post it later (it's early where I am and the cats are sleeping on top of me so could be stuck for a while :) )
  • Not so sunny Scotland :)
  • Began again on the 12th January, been here several times but it never stuck... Was around 176 lbs and was fed up with buying bigger and bigger clothes. It's been a slow journey with a couple of bumps along the way but I currently weigh 147lbs.
  • Why are you placing the blame on Scots? The article is about the Irish tasting American foods.... Believe me, we Scots have amazing delicacies that few would like (deep fried mars bar anyone?) :)
  • I feel rather embarrassed when ppl at work comment on my weight loss. Especially if I've not seen them for a while and their surprised. All I think in my head is "how flippin fat was I?" I'm a glass half empty kinda girl anyway so that may explain that (Conversely however, the BF family have said nothing which ticks me…
  • I sin quite often :smokin: I refuse to add ketchup, olive oil, brown sauce to my calorie count - I don't wanna give them up  I also guesstimate for takeaways, restaurants and buffets.
  • Scottish lass here looking to add more friends. I log in every day, diary is open to all (for good and bad), and I love cats
  • I came back from holiday (having ate cheese cakes, muffins, burgers, etc  ) and I was 3lbs heavier. I "lost" that 3lbs the week after from just going back to normal eating. Honestly it's probably water weight which will come right off. I too was kinda like "huh that sucks" when I saw I had gained but it will come…
  • 5ft 7(ish) here Starting weight of 179lBs (uk size 16) Current weight of 152 lbs (uk size 14 and might I add that I'm jealous of all you ladies at this weight and in a size 12:tongue: ) Goal weight maybe around the 140s

  • Took me about 5 months - I was exercising once a week for most of that. I've recently upped it to 3x a week. I wasn't worried about how long it would take. I look at this more as a lifestyle change and it will take longer to break the habits of a lifetime and create new ones.
  • I feel embarrassed (I seem to get these comments on a weekly basis from people at work). Especially when people tell me I'm looking nice and slim now... back handed compliment! So I looked like crap before? (this is just how my head works and I realize that they don't mean it this way) But then, there is no pleasing me.…
  • never seen anyone read on a treadmill..... Why not use the stationary bike? That would maybe be a bit more do able. Or even just do your exercise then go back home to do your reading?
  • Think I may go with the ft4 for now. I do some cardio which I would like accurate readings for (cycling, Insanity) and it sounds like the ft4 would be right up my street. Didn't even think about the chest strap running out of batteries! Good shout :)
  • Thanks for the link! I would definitely be getting the rib strap along with the watch (actually didn't realise that any came without the rib cage strap :embarassed: )
  • Open diary here - and not always the healthiest (had a Krispy Kreme donut the other day  ), but I see this more as a lifestyle change and not a diet.
  • Have fell off the wagon plenty of times in the past, but I'm trying to think of this as a lifestyle change instead of a "quick fix". I agree the forums can be negative at times but there are also lots of positive posts too, it's just a matter of choosing what you want to read and taking the rest with a pinch of salt (at…
