Thanks so much for the informative response! It is hard to cut calories and at the end of the day not have any calories left for the nutrients the body needs. I guess I need to make better choices overall. I do like potatoes and juice tho! :)

I am so thankful that you posted this topic! I have been ravenous for food all week and going over my cals by about 500 each day. I was even feeling like I should quit counting for a little while to get my head straight! I thought it was just me, and although I don't like hearing that you all have this problem too, it…

Welcome to MFP! This site is such an eye opener to make us accountable for everything we put in our bodies! I hope you have great luck with it. I think the best thing aside from this site for me is buying a food scale. I had no idea how much I was over eating on cereal each day. I used measuring cups before, but now I use…

Thanks everyone for the feedback! I have always wondered how my HRM could say that I burned 400 cals after running for 30 mins 4 times a week and I would never loose any weight. Since I started under-cutting my workout calories I have started really loosing. Everyone on here says that it is important to eat your workout…

Thanks for your response! I have been under-cutting my workout calories and I wasn't sure if that was right. .

Weird question...but maybe someone might know. I was wondering if heart rate monitors subtract resting calories from your workout calories? If I do a 60 minute workout and my body requires 100 calories per hour to function and my HRM says I have burned 400 calories...is it actually 300 calories burned? Am I a calorie nazi…

You can do it this time! I always have to remind myself that it took a while to put the weight on...and it will take a while to take it off. I use to beat myself up big time about a bad day. One bad day would turn into a bad week...then start again on Monday only to have the cycle go on and on! Once you find that…

Once I realized that I was actually eating 80g of cereal (while using measuring cups) and logging calories for 57g, I started loosing a lot faster! Here is the one I got... (but mine is silver...looks the same though). The only beef I have with it is that it will turn its self off pretty quickly if it is not being used. I…

Many of you are probably using a food scale already. For those that are not, I would highly recommend it! I just got one and I am amazed at the difference between using measuring cups and the digital scale. My cereal says 2/3 cup is a serving. I have been using measuring cups for a while now and and it turns out I have…

Thanks to everyone for all the great responses! We are all in this fight together! It is so great to have such great support on MFP!!!

I have been using MFP continuously for about a month now. I just tried on my "skinny" jeans and they fit! Yeah...I have a bit of a muffin top, but they actually fit my legs! I want to share this because I have had a struggle with my weight my entire life! MFP really WORKS! Sure, I have the days where I blow my calorie…

I bought a quality treadmill about 10 years ago and I STILL use it. (I did however enjoy using it at the gym) It has a wide area to walk and is very close to the floor...so I don't feel like I am standing so tall that I am almost touching the celining. Also, I got one close to the floor so that if I fell off, I wouldn't…

Thank you!!!! Have a great evening!

Where is everyone going to create the pics of the computerized before and after photos? That is so neat!

Thanks for all of your input. It seems as though I can never get full... and perhaps it is because of all the splurging and drinking water in excess to aid digestion. The weekends always seem to be the toughest for me. It is so hard not to get discouraged after you have totally blown your calories for the day. Usually…

Hello! I just started MFP almost 2 weeks ago and I LOVE it! Everyone has such great advice and I am so happy to be in this fight with all of you! I know that a calorie is a calorie, but is it better that if you are going to overeat one day, you do it all at one meal instead of spreading out your over-eating all day?
