YES! I just started today so here we go... :grumble: I'm trying to make good choices when I can't help it and HAVE to grab something. Carrot sticks, a few grapes, whatever it takes to hold me to my next scheduled meal or snack
Good luck to you :flowerforyou:0 -

According to several medical sites you burn about 300 more calories during TOM. A guess between that and hormones make you ravenous. It is recommended eating complex carbs and increasing calcium in take. I had to look this up last night because I had been riding my broom all day and needed some relief.:laugh:0

me too!!! and eating salty stuff during this time is nooooot a good idea. hahaha cause you are already retaining water... eh... week of pure hell lol0 -
I hear you too! I was craving cereal today so had to make my way to the grocery store...I've ate about half the box already!!! I got a low calorie special K with a trim soy milk.
I think sometimes you have to give in because you are losing so much energy from your period. Just try and make it good choices0 -
I am sooooo hungry during the few days before I get it. I will eat cardboard! JK:laugh:0

I am so glad I'm not alone in this. lol I've never really tried to watch what I eat (but after having 2 kids(*i actually have 3 but hes my stepson* now I have to!!!) so i've never noticed that when I was on my period i was more hungry cause i just ate more with out thinking about it. Isn't being a woman amazing hahaha.0

Here's what I try to do during the "I wanna eat everything" phase lol. Try to have lot's of celery and carrot sticks around, low in calories and crunchy, also frozen fruit is good and I also freeze no fat yogurt cups, takes awhile to eat them frozen so you can sort of trick yourself into thinking your eating more then you are. There are times as well when I'll do some toning, makes me feel better knowing I decided to reach for the weights then reaching for something that would put on the weight :happy:0

this peanut butter was in the fridge for like 2 months and i was never interested in it but now that aunt flo is here i actually ended up craving it just after lunch... only about 3 tablespoons tho, managed to stop myself in time... on the contrary didn't even have any appetite for dinner... this time of the month is sure one weird time... :ohwell:
i also notice i now lose more weight than usual during that week... it's 3rd month since i changed my lifestyle and the first month i plateaued through it but then last month lost like 7 pounds during it and i feel like i'm losing a lot again now... i tried to eat more than i usually do the past couple days, it's not like i mind losing more weight but my blood pressure goes low and i feel so drained and weak, so i need some extra fuel... :frown:0 -
I am so thankful that you posted this topic! I have been ravenous for food all week and going over my cals by about 500 each day. I was even feeling like I should quit counting for a little while to get my head straight! I thought it was just me, and although I don't like hearing that you all have this problem too, it helps me to know that I can get back on the wagon and just put the week behind me! Have a great weekend!0

Ahhhh....
The joy of being a woman. I have this problem too - but worse! I am absolutely ravenous around the time I ovulate! It's worse than my period. (I'm really only super bad the first couple days) . It is insane, and when I go back to check my reports, I can see the pattern. Every two weeks for about three days, I'm over. There have been times I've just stopped counting.
I think the important thing to remember here is that just because you're over for a couple days, it's not the end. Don't give up, and when your hormones have regulated a bit, start over.
I try to keep things on hand that help - Nestle hot cocoa with calcium is only 25 calories a cup, and it helps me. Sometimes, I add the mix to coffee instead of water. I think the mix of sweet/cocoa/warm makes a difference. Those special K bars help (chocolaty drizzle 90cal) or one of the kettle corn popcorn bags (100cal) help to keep me sane.
Good Luck!:flowerforyou:0 -
That must be why I am just starving today. I have tried so hard to stay out of the kitchen. :grumble:0

When TOM is here I graze for part of it. I don't lessen up my exercise so I figure I'll burn it off.0
