Started out last year where y'all are. Lost 70 lbs (sitting at 65 after the holidays). If I can do it, you can do it. 30 more to go, then I'll re-evaluate. Back on plan 100% for the past week.

You know, I've been thinking about this frame thing and maybe foot size is a good indicator. I wear a size 10 or 11 (mostly 10 now with the weight I've lost) and I just assumed everyone that was the same height as me wore the same shoe size. However, I have a friend that's the same height and she wears a size 8 shoe. How…

I did a DNA test too - I'm sort of the inverse of you. about 50% German/Polish 25% British and the rest a mix of other European areas (Russian, Scandinavian, etc) I had to lose 40 lbs before anyone said anything. But I also think they didn't want to be wrong and embarrass us both!

@bmeadows380 - thanks, that's my "healthy German peasant stock-ness." I'm just sorta solid all over - I'm also 5'11" My saving grace in all of this is my height. I'm 235 right now.

Was 70 lbs - but up 6 right now from the holidays.

I'm on 450 mg of Welbutrin and I'm down 64 lbs. Welbutrin is actually one of the "pro" weight loss meds. ETA: Here's a good table that shows what various psych meds do. https://pro.psychcentral.com/how-to-help-your-patients-lose-weight/002215.html

Here's me at 300+ and then down about 65 lbs in the after photos. I went up over the holidays but am back to this weight again now after a really super fantastic first week back on the wagon.

I'm at 240 (down from 300) I want to get under 200 - at least. 40 is my minimum.

I turn 50 in September I have about 40 lbs I'd like to lose to get below 200. It's about 36 weeks until my birthday - gonna give it my best shot. Lost 70 lbs last year in the first nine months of the year maybe I'll make it.

Prior to the holidays I was down 70 lbs and I still wasn't feeling that feeling either. I made a photo collage of before and after pics - that brought the change out much more than I thought. You know what did it even more? I cut my head off! LOL. Seeing the body without me associated with it looked like quite an…

Eating the same food as my family, just focusing on portion control and sizes.

I'm also looking to lose about 100 lbs. I ran into the same situation at 70 lbs - then the holidays came and now I'm sitting at 60 lbs! BOO! Back on the wagon as of Monday. I made myself a photo collage so I could see the progress I made and that's been a shot in the arm. Maybe you could do something similar? We can do…

Have you talked to your Dr about Cymbalta (duloxetine) or Effexor (venlafaxine)? They are in the same class of drugs (SNRI) as the Pristiq - maybe you'd tolerate them better?
-
I went off the rails pretty much November and December - gained 15 lbs (so much for not losing but not gaining!). I'm down 7 as of this morning.
-
I'm on 300 mcg of levothyroxine. I haven't noticed the thyroid situation causing trouble with weight loss. But I'm also on some psych meds that seem to promote weight loss so maybe it all balances out.

First picture is about 300 lbs, second is down about 65 lbs.

I made this comparison for myself to get me over the New Year/holiday hump. The before pictures are at my highest 300+ I don't know exactly. The after pictures are from last fall I was down about 65 lbs and then went off the rails at Halloween. I'll be 50 in September and I'd like to be in the 190s by then. I was 242.5…

I started at 300 lbs the beginning of last year, these pictures are of me in the fall before the holiday "hiatus." I'm down about 65 lbs in the after pictures.

I'm late to the party but did play volleyball and basketball in my young years... I'm 5'11"

Hi, I'm 5'11" lost 70 lbs last year and fell off the wagon between Halloween and New years, up 12.5 as of this morning. Still down a bunch overall tho! Want to keep the momentum going in the right direction. I'm currently 242.5 and want to get to onder-land at a minimum - after that we'll see.

I've got chemical depression, anxiety and degenerative disc disease so I hear you on all fronts. I have an appt in 2 weeks to talk about another back surgery. Seems like my psych meds are balanced really well at the moment, knock on wood that will continue. Now to keep the scale going down!

I've been working toward onder-land for a year. Started 2017 at 300 lbs, lost 70 lbs then went off the rails at Halloween and just tried to hang on through the holidays. Well - 15 lbs later, here I am back at it. I'm actually down 58 lbs (again) as of this morning Tried to send a request, don't know that it went through.
-
Lost 70 lbs during 2017 - had a 15 lb regain from Halloween through New Years. I'm back on the wagon. I'll be 50 in September and really want to push to get to onder-land this year.
-
Another someone who fell off the wagon. Was down 70 and gained 15 back since Halloween. Back at it - a pound at a time, a step at a time.
-
I've lost 70 lbs this year eating "normal" food (had pizza for dinner last night) and creating a deficit. I know some people might look down their noses at me, but if you don't want to get caught up in all the minutiae of a "system" or particular type of diet you can just eat less of what you're eating now. Now, depending…

I read this article http://thesweethome.com/reviews/the-best-bathroom-scales/ and got the eatsmart precision bathroom scale. I've been happy with it. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00KQSOPUW/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Wow - thanks everyone for all the PSAs and tips. As for measuring now, I use measuring cups/spoons.

Thanks for the info. Any tips are appreciated.
