  • I liked it quite a bit...but the sugar alcohols in it tore my stomach up bad. But, I always have issues with erythritol so it shouldn't have been a shock
  • I've got the same answer as @stetienne. If it's so bad I can't sleep I'll eat something small or drink something hot. Decaf, tea..hot stuff tricks my tummy into feeling fuller some times.
  • I feel like veganism isn't mostly about health, but more about morals. Almost like a religion, but I'm not arguing semantics. If you want to go plant-based check out some of the better recipe sites like Oh She Glows, Thug Kitchen, and Minimalist Baker.
  • Don't buy into the whole idea that you have to starve yourself to lose weight. That's bunk. You have to starve yourself to lose alot of weight very, very fast. If you do it that way, I believe most of the info I've read said that your chance of keeping off the weight is only like 5%. By eating moderately, you'll lose…
  • This post makes me sad. Counting carbs in wine makes me want to cry.
  • Depends. I lose a pound a week on around 1500 calories a day and I'm a 38 year old 5'3" 200lb woman who just popped out her 3rd kid. Your stats matter.
  • Beer. Really good craft beer.
  • To hell with lettuce. I prefer spinach. Fills me up better, tastes better.
  • Can you just drink less? Like I normally have 1 drink and I make it something awesome and satisfying like a really good craft beer. Even the super caloriffic ones are 300 or less. I can generally make that work. Stouts are much lower calorie. In the 120-200 range depending on the brewer.
  • Out of those the fajita salad is probably your best bet. I eat mexican and stay around 500. I don't each the chips they put out...which makes me sad and tests my willpower. I got tilapia last time I went and ate half since the plate was ginormous. I tend to go with seafood since I don't like the taste of cheese with…
  • I am proof positive that you can run and not lose weight. At one point I was running about 25 miles a week and not losing....probably because that much running makes me feel like I'm starving. And I like to end a run with a beer. Weight loss, for me, starts in the kitchen. I run because I enjoy it. I do lose weight doing…
  • I can only speak from my experience. Hubs and I are both pretty dense and not terribly sensitive. Hubs: "You are eating another piece of chocolate?" Me: *angry glare and clutches chocolate bar obsessively* Me: "Why do you have a gym membership. You haven't gone in 2 years. Tell them you want your money back because your…
  • I would cut someone who made me give up dairy or carbs, but I do like some of the recipes on the Oh She Glows and Thug Kitchen blogs.
  • Your calories sound about right to me for your height/activity. Maybe it's what you are eating? I too adore carbs and wouldn't give them up ever...but maybe something else it off balance. Are you getting enough fat and fiber? Oh, and it's spring here and that gives me allergies...which makes me feel lethargic. Could it be…
  • I pickled a huge daikon radish and I've been eating on it for days. So good and filling and pickly.
  • daily drinks morning - pound the coffee afternoon - pound the water early evening - beer late evening - hot tea
  • I have a baby who just turned 3 months today. When I was still gung ho about tracking I set myself to maintenance for the first trimester, maintenance + 250 calories for the second and honestly didn't give a crap by the 3rd trimester. I'm glad that with this as my 3rd (and last) pregnancy I just enjoyed myself and didn't…
  • I agree with @jvezzsb01 . Destination maternity/Motherhood has better fitting stuff. At least for me. I just had my 3rd son and I like a full panel jean. Those half panel ones are no bueno for the 3rd trimester. Old Navy's maternity jeans were my least favorite. Even their full panel lacked a tight band at the top so I was…
  • coffee. lots of coffee.
  • I make yogurt a couple of times a week. I just scald whatever milk I'm using (usually a half gallon of 2% lactaid milk), let cool to luke warm, stir in a half cup of yogurt. Cover and leave in the oven overnight with the oven light on to keep it warm. I use a heavy dutch oven for the pot. I like mine plain with berries.…
  • I gained about 25lbs each time I was pregnant. I have a 4 year old, 6 year old, and a 11 week old. I ate whatever I felt like. Since I'm not a Duggar I figured I should focus on trying to enjoy something that will only happen a couple of times. I worked out while pregnant, but I didn't count calories. I was pudgy before I…
  • I had Korean BBQ for lunch. I bet I gained 3lbs in the last hour.
  • I used to swim and my thoughts were always anxiety about getting a lane. Those old mofos at the Y were so mean. And numerous. It was like Cocoon up in there.
  • Opposite effect. When I dip my french fries in vinegar I gain weight.
  • My ovaries can't handle heavy lifting.
  • You guys are so nice. I'm looking at you and trying to figure out what famous person you look like. My gym has an inordinate amount of Justin Beibers. But I saw an Ed Koch yesterday, which made me smile. One day last week I was running behind some guy with the nicest tush I'd seen in a long time. I'm an old lady with kids,…
  • dairy is awesome. I even make my own cheese.
  • I make cheater chocolate muffins. 1 can pumpkin puree, 1 box chocolate cake mix. I use a mini muffin tin. Each muffin averages out to about 45 calories. I eat two or three. My kids eat them for breakfast. The little buggers have no idea they are full of fiber and vitamins from the pumpkin. That will make you about 50 mini…
  • Mine was down too...so I used that as an excuse not to log the big ol' lemon cookie I ate late last night. ;)
  • I buy and cook like 4lbs of chicken breast every couple of weeks. Then I portion it into 4oz servings and use it for all sorts of stuff. It lasts in the freezer for 3 months. One of my favorite things is to let it partially freeze and slice super thin into lunch meat. I put that on salads or make sandwiches with it. We…
