Simple beginner program with autoimmune
Hello! I am trying to put together a simple strength routine for my mom (she has a number of health issues). She is VERY deconditioned, but not at all overweight (she's tiny). I'm a trainer and I have tons of equipment at my house. I'm just having a mental block on this. We are going to do it together. I walk with her 2-3x…

Bulk and cut timeframe
Do you cut and bulk for the same amount of time? I have read a lot of threads but want to make sure i am understanding correctly as I am planning for the next year. Bulk for 3 months gaining around 1lb/week. Ideally this is half fat and half muscle. Then cut for 3 months, but at a slower rate of 0.5lb/week. So when the cut…

Medication for binge eating and co-occurring disorders
So I have suffered from moderate to severe depression for the last couple of years. I also have anxiety. My binging had gotten extremely out of hand and I have gained over 20 pounds. At this point I am binging almost every night and the longest I go is two nights without a bunge. All that being said-has anyone been…

Weighing food
I often see people mentioning weighing in grams vs ounces. Is this simply bc grams are a smaller unit of measure? My scale is in ounces. It measures to the 1/10 of an ounce. Sometimes, for serving size purposes, I want "1.25" ounces, so I simply measure 1.2 and log as 1.25. I know grams are a significantly smaller unit of…

This is easier than calorie counting? Or just writing it down? You can just take pictures of all your labels for…

Strong lifts and running
Hi All, I have been running and working out for a few years. Originally circuits and boot camp style, followed by free weights and eventually barbel lifts. I did crossfit for a while but have never really followed a strict lifting program. In the last six months I have really lost my fitness! Surgery, followed by getting…

Tracking a binge
Hi all! I've been using myfitnesspal for a few years. First as a tool, then as an obsession and now it's just habit. Like many of us, I started off restricting and bingeing, but now I just binge all the time. So-my question is do you guys track your binges and why? (Or even just your overeating). At this point I am…

Biggest eye opener from weighing food
for me it was oatmeal! The portion was always so big and suddenly-not so much. I still get angry looking at my "1/2 cup" portion that is really about a 1/3 cup Plus I miss gluttonous amounts of peanut butter

Anyone eat over 2000 calories?
Anyone eat more than 12-1600 calories a day??? I eat 2050 when I want to lose, I'll eventually get down to 1750(if I want to be super lean) but I consider that super low. I'm active, but have always eaten this way. 5'7" up to 150 lbs (comfortable weight of 135-140). I could definitely use some friends in my calorie range
