Anyone use the 8 Hour Diet (aka Intermittent Fasting)?
ANYONE OUT THERE DO INTERMITTENT FASTING? I was just reading a very interesting book about it from Mens Health called the 8 HOUR DIET. Now the book blows the benefits and possible results way out of proportion just like any diet book and I hate that -- what I like is the actual act of this fasting process. Now I don't like…

Workout videos for free - any advice (not youtube)?
So I love DailyBurn but hate paying for it. I like that they ask my weight, height, fitness level, time I have to work out, etc and put me in a program that will work for me. I really like that they ask what kind of coach I need (easy going, hard core). Also they ask what equipment I have so they know whether videos must…

Need good ONLINE workout videos? NO dvd player!
I was about to ask for the P90 system (a little toned down version of p90X) for Christmas and then realized - I don't even have a dvd player. Ha ha. Are there some good daily workout video sites that are affordable that you really like? I am not in good shape at all so something with beginner workouts that anyone (even a…

DailyBurn vs. FitStar
Looking for something I can take to the gym on my IPAD at night. Go into the unused group fitness rooms (I work out at 10pm so it's always open). Put on the ipad a follow along with a workout. I want something that combines cardio, strength, balance, etc and am focused on weight loss. Anyone use either of these or have any…

Quick lunch ideas for someone just starting out?!
So I have lived my life just running to KFC, Burger King, Taco Bell, Subway, etc for lunch - that is how I got where I am today (100 pounds overweight). As I start this mission I am eating a lot of AMY'S FROZEN MEALS (veggie, natural, organic). But all I hear is that I should be packing my own fresh lunches. The reason I…

FitStar - A Personal Trainer in Your Pocket
Does anyone else use this here? I absolutely LOVE it. Everyone on here should try it if you find working out on your own a little intimidating. Advanced people might not need it but it's great for getting started. www.fitstar.com PROS: - You do a fitness test to start (guages what you can vs can't do). - - Workouts are…

Why do I need a food scale???
So I just looked through my meal plan and the only measurements it calls for is cups, tbsp, tsp, etc. No weights. It occasionally asks for one chicken breast or one tilapia fillet but does not list a weight for that. And when I log the food on MFP I just put in EMEALS and the FOOD and it automatically add's it with all the…

HELP - MASON JAR LUNCHES?
I love this idea of prepping 5 days worth of salads and just grabbing before lunch and just adding dressing at work! But one question?! Could I just use some tuperware that I already have instead of buying mason jars? Is there any benefit to mason jars except they look nicer?

Just starting out......need your advice on my plan of attack!
So I am starting out once again on this weight loss journey. I would love people to read this and give me POSITIVE feedback and advice as I move forward. If you have tips, tricks, changes, etc let's hear them as long they are POSITIVE FEEDBACK. Today I took some before photos (not very flattering) and posted right in front…

Working out in group fitness room by yourself - okay?
So I am giving something new a try. I go to my gym around 9:30pm when everyone has left and have about 30-45 minutes by myself to work out. I can't work out around other people - I freak out and leave early. I was thinking of taking my IPAD and working out to workout videos in the group fitness room (kettlebell routines,…

Help finding a fitness tracker that logs non-walking or running excercises?
Howdy everyone - just a quick question this morning in hopes of finding a motivational tool to help me log my progress. I love MFP but want to find an easier way of logging my exercise than typing it in each time. I have owned a FitBit and Jawbone but they only track steps and I find I get a lot of false steps when I am…
