My Week by Week Experience with None To Run (N2R)
I am starting a new running program. For those of you who have been following along for a while, you know that 9 years ago I ran/walked a half marathon and then haven’t run much since. When I was training for my half, I used Couch to 5K (C25K) initially to get me started. I successfully used that method, of walk/running…

Fat to Finish Line - Running for all
I watched a documentary a few days ago called “fat to finish line”. And it was super inspiring for me because I have been attempting to get back into running. If you haven’t watched it I would encourage you to do so I think I watched it on Amazon or Netflix for free. As a larger runner it sometimes feels isolating. If…

NSV - Fat, Weight Loss and Amusement Parks: Expectations vs. Reality
My stomach sunk as history repeated itself. “Ma’am, can we have you move to another seat that can accommodate riders of a larger size?” I had been here before, you see, I have a complicated relationship with amusement park rides, fear, sickness, love, exhilaration, and shame all rolled into one complex emotion. As a child,…

Favorite Health / Weight Loss / Working out Quotes
I am a quote junky. I regularly share good ones I find with my MFP friends but thought I would start a thread here too. I find so much encouragement and inspiration, and sometimes a kick in the pants from other people's wise words. Here are some of my favorites - feel free to add your own, and I will do the same. :) Feel…

One Year on MFP - thoughts, lbs lost, life updates and what's next
One year. 365 days tracking on MFP. First of all, I have learned that my body is awesome. I have spent years hating it. But it works great, is getting stronger, and allows me to love my people. I also learned that I will still be the same person no matter my size, so I need to keep working on myself and my relationships –…

60 Pounds Down (272 to 212 at 5’5”) – 8 Years Ago I ran my First Half Marathon
I love MFP friends, so feel free to add me and we can support each other in the day-to-day! The last time I was at this weight was 8 years ago. I was 32 years old and was picking up my tracker, number, and jersey for my first half-marathon. As I lined up at the starting line on race day, I was amazed at how surreal this…

Down 40 lbs and Looking for Friends!
I am finally down 40 pounds! It's been a journey! I have 60 more to get to the 100 pound mark, which would put me in a healthy place, but most likely not my final resting point. My in real life friends and family are great, but haven't walked this road and don't really "get" what's helpful and what's not. Mostly the…

Feeling discouraged
I officially hit the 10 pounds lost mark today and instead of feeling excited about it I feel really discouraged. How in the world did I let it get this? I’ve lost these same pounds before. There is really no visual change. There is still so far to go. Discouraged.

Starting the journey with whole foods
This is me stating out again. Just keep getting back up. Progress not perfection. I just turned 40 and I want to hit 80. In June 2012 I ran a half marathon and haven't worked out a day since and just hit 272 lbs. I'd love more friends on here for encouragement. Add me. ❤️

Back at it again after 2 1/2 years and 45 pounds -----
2 1/2 years ago I ran/walked my first half marathon. It was of course a huge achievement and one I remain very proud of. But the day after the marathon, I stopped working out and stopped tracking my food or weight.... fast forward to now, I'm out of shape and up 45 pounds. So for the past 3 1/2 weeks I have been tack to…
