Afraid I'm going to fall back into old habits - Appreciate your help getting my head straight!!!
Hi MFP, I'm hoping you all can help me snap out of a couple of really bad days! I'm really worried that this is going to be the beginning of another cycle of yo-yoing. Here is my history: Several times, I have lost 20+ pounds primarily through diet (cutting calories) and cardio. Most recently, I lost 30 lbs on MFP in 2015.…

Why your weight is a meaningless number...
I found this picture and thought it was awesome, so I had to share! https://puddingthedamageon.files.wordpress.com/2013/03/aussie.jpg Every single woman weighs 154, which according to the site is the average weight of an Australian woman.

Help me understand Body Fat %
I am new to tracking body fat % and I'm trying to understand what it all means. It seems like a better judge of progress than the scale, which is so fickle, so I would like to focus more on BF% and measurements than the scale. But I have no idea what is good, bad, or indifferent (except of course that less is better!). 1.…

How often do I need to strength train?
I would appreciate some thoughts on developing a strength training program. I have heard you all loud and clear that to have the body you want, you need to lift weights. The problem for me is that if I push myself too hard or the time commitment is too much, I know myself, and I'll just stop. So I want to start lifting but…

Go-To Blogs / Websites for Healthy Recipes
My favorite is EmilyBites. Her recipes are easy and delicious and she provides all the nutritional info for you! Only problem is that she only posts 1 or 2 recipes a week so I am in need of some other options. What sites do you use to find healthy recipes?

Weighing food help
I weigh my foods to be accurate in tracking, but what about pre-portioned snacks? Do I need to weigh the following: - breakfast bars - 100 calorie packs - Frozen entrees - Other single serving items where the service size is 1 container or 1 bar or 1 entree?

Do NOT understand Fitbit calorie adjustment
I am royally confused by how Fitbit calculates my calorie adjustment. A couple of things I have noticed: 1. On Saturday, I walked 11,214 steps for an adjustment of 156. On Sunday I walked 10,921 for an adjustment of 193. What? Fewer steps = more calories burned? no way. 2. If I do other cardio, my adjustment is lower. I…

HELP - Is my calorie target right?
Hi everyone, I'm hoping for some help and advice from the MFP gurus out there. I would like to be losing weight a bit more quickly - for the past month, I've been a little under 1 lb a week. I am keeping this in perspective and recognizing it for the excellent achievement it is! However, I think that given what I am doing,…

Is there such a thing as a REAL plateau?
I'd be interested to hear people's thoughts. I see tons of posts about people saying they hit a plateau and don't know what to do. It seems that they always fall in one of two categories: 1. They haven't lost weight in one or two weeks - not long enough to be a plateau 2. They have not been sticking to their plan or think…

Show me your progress! Ladies ~5'8" 180lb
I love seeing progress pics for motivation and was wondering if someone "like me" could show me what I have to look forward to. I'm pear shaped with a very big bottom, 5'8", 182 lb SW. I am trying to visualize my future skinny self and would love if any ladies who are somewhat similar to me could show me what you have…

Slimming your lower body
I am looking for exercises that will slim and tone my lower body - what do you all do? Right now I am losing a lot more inches in my tummy and arms then my thighs and hips. I am so happy to see a loss, but I would like to see a slimmer lower body. I know that ultimately it's about maintaining a deficit, but I'd like to…

Plateauing - Does your body get stuck on certain weight ranges?
I've noticed that my body tends to get stuck at certain weights. Of course there are lots of reasons for plateaus, but I have noticed that when gaining or losing weight, there are ranges where my weight will stay where it is for a while, regardless of my eating and exercise habits. Then once I move out of that range, my…
