Week 3 as a runner...
All-- First off, thanks for all of the tips I've received so far. I'm up to 2 miles with a pace of just over 14 min a mile--super slow (already increased my pace by 1 min/mile). I'm pretty proud that I can run the first mile without walking and less than a block of walking during the last mile. I'm also running 4-5…

Sodium--holy moly (and other epiphanies)
I've really been focused the last month on not only losing weight, but just overall being healthier with my food choices and activity. I've come to realize that sodium is the devil! How do you track things like marinades?
So I baked chicken for lunch and brushed a marinade over it. How do I track that? I like to keep track of my speed/distance and the impact on my overall day with it, but I'm finding it to be horribly inaccurate in everything but the time I'm gone and that's based off of me hitting…

Calorie deficit or fixed # of calories?
I'm fairly new to MFP but have been tracking my food intake for years off and on. Previously I've done WW with the point plus system. My question....do most of you typically try to lose weight using the calorie deficit approach (i.e. more exercise you do, more calories you can eat) or a fixed number of calories? I know…

Granola Recipes
I enjoy granola, yogurt and berries for a mid-morning snack. I just started making my own granola. I like to keep it super simple with just oats, no fruit or nuts. What are options for sweeteners or "glue" for granola that you have all used? I know there is honey and maple syrup and or sugar or coconut oil....looking for…
