Any martial arts or jiu jitsu folks?
Greetings! I'm back after a 10-month hiatus. Realized that MFP really helps me keep things in check. I'm back to tracking workouts fully again. Hope to connect with Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) or MMA or any like minded martial arts folks for motivation. Thanks! OSS

Late night post workout shake
I want to make a shake for several reasons but have a few roadblocks. - I do jiu jitsu in the evenings straight after work. It's really intense. This leaves me no time to eat a meal between work and class. I do have fruit and small snack in the late afternoon so I'm not completely gassed out during class. - Class is far so…

What trails have you hit lately? Anything notable?
I love hiking/backpacking. I've been doing it for over 20+years and counting. I burn the most calories this way with the bonus of great scenery. Any trails you want to share? Lot's of wilderness around here. I used to log 20+ miles on the weekends but it fell by the wayside the last year-and-a-half (accompanied by…

New-ish. Moved away from WW
Kickstarted the change in my eating habits in mid-Dec (due to health and age). Joined Weight Watchers (free through work) at the end of Dec. Did well, but felt like I still didn't have a full grasp of nutrition. Logged back into this old MFP account. Started parallel tracking on WW and MFP. Moved away from logging on WW…

Ancestral Diet... eating right for your origins
http://www.macleans.ca/society/health/eat-like-your-grandma-why-you-should-skip-the-kale-salad/ I have found this to be pretty true (in my case). I am a 1st Gen Asian born in America. All the "diet experts" kept touting about how "bad" white rice is, however I can probably for a fact trace back the consumption of rice back…
