ITP IDEAS
Hi there. Does anyone else on here have ITP? (If you have to ask what it is, chances are, you don't or haven't been diagnosed with it). I was diagnosed about 9 months ago. Every 3 months my platelets drop by 10-20K. Last count was a cool 91K. Anyway, I bruised up pretty bad at the gym the last time I went. I didn't do…

INSTANT POT: my new love!
I assume many of you already use it but I love this thing! I wasn't going to buy one but the reviews were quite consistent so I thought why not! I'm actually an old fashioned cook but this instant pot thing has me cookin more happily than before. Mostly because there's no spatter or mess. So, if you're an instant pot fan,…

Replacement for Grapefruit?
It seems so many plans call for eating grapefruit. But I cannot eat it due to a conflict with medications I take for my heart. Does anyone know about any replacement for grapefruit and how much of it would replace 1/2 grapefruit? Thanks!

Exercise for the Limited
At 62 and with some mobility issues, I am discovering that walking is good. So, I walk the parameter of my housing area. It's a nice walk. Around 1-1/2 miles. My first time out though, I discovered that, no matter how nice the housing area is, there's always litter. So I decided to add a little extra to my walk. I now pick…

Recommendations for a good home bathroom scale
Every scale I buy goes wonky in just a few months it seems. I bought this last one at Bed Bath and Beyond and it worked well until I had to move it to clean. From then on- ugh! One day I'll weigh one thing and the next day it says I'm 5 or more pounds lighter (tempted to take it lol). Or it goes way up! Can anyone suggest…

DISCOVERY: hearts of palm
I'd seen it in the canned aisle and looked at the picture and thought: that looks ridiculously fiberous and walked on by. Then the other day I decided to buy it. Only 80 calories for this whole can of white-ish lincoln logs?? Rinse the salt off. Okay. Cut into rounds. Taste. OH YUMMO! Just a bit of snap on the outside,…

How Many Do-Overs Do We Get?
Remember when we were kids playing kick ball and if someone scratched they could call for a "do-over?" We could have 1 do-over. So how many do-overs do we get doing myfitnesspal? I started out at 245. Then all kinds of stuff happened and I quickly lost track of tracking my food and now I sit at 250. Ugh! Is it okay on here…

Do detox teas really detox you? And what does that mean, anyway?
I've always loved my caffeine free teas. Celestial Seasons and all that. But I decided to try some YOGI detox tea. Well, its got a ton of flavor, I will tell ya that! Kind of spicy actually. But I don't quite understand how the tea "detoxifies" me and what exactly that's all about. Anyone able to put this into layman's…

help!
Okay so I started counting cals this week. And all three days I've gone over my estimated amount allowed. Am I doing this wrong? I eat, tally and enter in to the data base. Tonight I went 22 calories over. Should I be counting before I eat or after?

Hello!
Hi there everyone. Just wanted to introduce myself and hope to learn more about healthy weight loss. I'm a recovering type 2 diabetic who admits to being a carb-a-holic and way too much into food for her own good. I just plain enjoy it! But I hope to enjoy it differently in 2018. I have a lot of poundage to drop and…
