Wish I hadn't weighed myself!
I weighed myself for the first time in 6 months today. Devastated to see that I weigh a couple of kilos more than I did in July, despite regularly working out 3-4 times per week (and for the past month working out in the gym 6 days per week). Obviously, I'm not being strict enough with my eating and logging, as my…

Daily calories
I've been struggling to lose any weight for the past 6 months. I've been going to the gym regularly and since the start of the year working out 6 days a week. I lift weights and walk briskly on the treadmill for around 1.5 hours Mon-Sat. My Fitbit active minutes average about 80 mins per day. Yet I remain stuck at a…

Believing you can do it
I’ve had an awful month of eating junk and being lazy. In spring and summer I lost almost two stone. I dread to think how much I’ve put back on. My problem is I can’t get back on the horse. I just don’t believe I’m going to achieve my goal. It’s not even really a goal to me, it’s just a pipe dream. People that achieve your…

Noticing your weight loss
During the lockdown I’ve lost roughly 28lbs. I currently weigh 319lbs. I achieved this with the 5:2 plan (800 calories on fast days), walking, weight training and heavy boxing bag workouts 5 days a week. I’m doing fine and enjoying the process as best I can. I’m curious as to when my weight loss will really be noticeable?…

Our Path/Second Nature
I gave this NHS-derived eating plan a try but it really isn’t working for me. I signed up with great enthusiasm and to some degree it is helpful. The group support and advice is very good. Alas, I didn’t realise beforehand that this is simply a low-carb diet. Once I started with it, I soon realised just how restrictive it…

Exercise with large stomach
This is probably the most embarrassing aspect of weight loss for me: dealing with exercising with a large stomach that has migrated downwards recently. Does anyone have advice on how to support this dead weight during exercise? I have full mobility, walk for over an hour every day (too heavy to run, yet) and have just…

Motivation has disappeared
Has anyone got advice for when motivation is suddenly lost? I’ve lost half a stone recently via strenuous walking twice a day. Despite the lockdown, I would rise at 6am when things are quiet and get 30-40 minutes walking. Then Id do the same at night. (I live in a rural area so I never see anyone during my walks). After a…

Help!
I’ve been struggling to get back to eating healthily since being on holiday in March. I did well in the lead up to my trip but since then I’ve lost all motivation. Well, I’m motivated to eat junk food. My job is pretty tough right now so I use food for comfort and reward. Any advice anyone can give me? I know all the…

Don’t believe the scales?
Does anyone else get a good result at a weigh-in and immediately start wondering if the number is true? I’ve lost 10 pounds this month and feel quite proud of myself. After I weigh myself, I feel anxiety that the number is probably wrong, that it probably isn’t weight loss and next week when I weigh myself, the weight will…

Grenade flapjack bars
I’ve taken a liking to the Grenade Fused Fruit flapjack bar. They taste great and are affordable for me. But I’m not sure it’s the best, nutritionally? Per bar, 30g carb, of which 8.6g sugar 18g protein 7.5g fibre 1.2g saturated fat I’m not a nutrition expert, could anyone offer an opinion and/or any alternative choices? I…
