Believing you can do it

I’ve had an awful month of eating junk and being lazy. In spring and summer I lost almost two stone. I dread to think how much I’ve put back on. My problem is I can’t get back on the horse. I just don’t believe I’m going to achieve my goal. It’s not even really a goal to me, it’s just a pipe dream. People that achieve your target, how do you do it? I’m convinced there’s some secret I don’t know. I just can’t stay motivated.

Seems to me you have a bit of soul searching to do!

Firstly, what's your why? Everyone has a reason for their weight loss, whether it because they're prediabetic, have been overweight forever, they want to try for a baby, they want to be fit in general and some for pure vanity (and there's nothing wrong with that!)

    So whats yours?

Secondly, what is it that discourages you? You say it feels like a pipe dream but why does it feel like that to you?
Have you tried and the scale hasn't budged? Do you have a support network? Do you find having others holding you accountable helps?

When you can start to figure out what stops you from doing these things, then you can work on fixing them things.

Have you seen the success story page. I ALWAYS look at these when I feel like I'm getting nowhere. Some of the transformations are EPIC! Like whole new people. But even people with smaller losses, you can notice the difference!

And how's your mental health, have you been looking after that, I've noticed alot of people have struggled during covid? Could you watch motivational videos to get you started?

Do you even know where to start? Is it just lack of information that decreases your confidence in whether what you're doing is even right?

I think, the only secret there is, is that you need discipline.

And by that is basically you have to parent yourself as you would a child.
Would you let your kid eat takeaway every night? No? Then you cant either! Would you encourage your child to eat fruit over a chocolate bar? Of course you would! So encourage yourself to do the same!

    I hope this helps! :)
