150 pounds gone in 15 months
Under a doctor's care, using regular exercise and MFP to both count calories and balance macros, I am now down 150lbs from my starting weight of 425lbs in November 2018. Only 25lbs left to my goal of 250lbs! Fat loss has slowed but the lifestyle is now firmly in place. Once I reach my target weight I will then begin the…

Taking the plunge today with online fitness coaching
Having dropped my BMI from 59 to 39 over the past year, I am now confident that I can handle a workout and nutrition regimen designed by a professional fitness coach. I want my BMI under 25 by this time next year, so we will see if this is the coach that will do it for me. If it is, I might even let y'all know who. :)

One year changed my life!
For over 30 years, I weighed between 350-425 pounds, constantly yo-yoing. Last year I joined MyFitnessPal and got serious about ALL aspects of my health - diet and exercise especially. Have worked my way up to 80-minute workouts every morning, with an additional 30 minutes of resistance training three days a week. Calories…

Trying to keep going when the going slows down!
I've dropped over 25% of my body weight in the past 310 days - trying to keep that in mind as I am tempted to skip workouts, eat bad foods, or let up in any way. Because I need to drop ANOTHER 20% of my starting weight before I am in a "healthy" range. That will be a much slower slog than the past several months - it might…

Down 121 pounds - now comes the HARD part!
Biggest challenge now? Everyone telling me "Wow, you look great, you don't need to lose any weight!"...when I know I am still 80 pounds above "obese" for my height, age, and frame. At the same time, these will be the toughest pounds to lose.

BMR seems like a wild guess to me
At 6-foot-1 and 309lbs, with daily one hour workouts that include 3000 hip abductors, 1000 pelvic lifts, plus weight training...and a warehouse job that keeps me on my feet tossing boxes 6-8 hours every weekday, I should be able to eat 2200 calories a day and lose weight. NOT. If I go over 1600 GROSS calories in a day, I…

111 pounds gone, and it feels FANTASTIC!
On the left is me at 425 pounds last year. On the right is me onstage at Tucson Folk Festival last April. November 4 2018 was my first day on MyFitnessPal, since then I have shed 111 pounds and completely changed my lifestyle. No more snacking, MUCH more exercise. I have 65 pounds left to burn off by April of 2020...and…
