CICO maths and fitbit
Hi there, Putting a spreadsheet together to try and troubleshoot my lack of progress. Is the basic sum this: fitbit 'all day burn' - (calories that I eat + exercise calories) = deficit eg fitbit says I burned 2500 calories, but on that day I ate 1400 + 400 = therefore deficit is 2500-1800 = 700 deficit Feels like I've…

Article: "Reverse dieting: slowly increasing calories won’t prevent weight regain ..."
I really rate articles on this site, but this confused me - if you go back to your old "pre-diet" eating plan then obviously you will start to gain weight again. After all, if you're 'pre-diet' regime didn't involve over-eating then you wouldn't have needed to diet in the first place. Or am I missing something here? Are…

What training can I do from home?
Gym's are soon opening here in the UK, but even when they open I'm going to struggle juggling childcare and work commitments (childcare in the day, work in the evening!) All the advice I read on here says follow a training programme - but I've got limited equipment here. Looking on line there are lots of programmes for…

Logging avocado
How does everyone do this, there seems to be different options! I've started weighing it in grams, but numbers seem quite low. (Eg I had 30g of avocado, but this only gave me 48 cals. Is this because the weight of an avocado assumes the stone? I don't use cups only food scales.

Registering slices of bread when you make your own sourdough
I don't trust MFP's guess of calories for this, it's based on someone else's recipe so isn't going to be accurate for me. Does anyone have experience of this? I tried to enter my own recipe - unsure how to log the sourdough starter ? It also wanted to know how many portions my recipe makes - well, that depends on how we…

Roasting veg - weigh before or after?
I like to put veggies in the oven - peppers, courgette, tomatoes are my favourite. But they weigh nothing when they come out of the oven, I can eat half a courgette and it weighs a few grams and barely contains any calories. Should I be weighing this pre-cooking? I can't tell which is more accurate. Thanks.
