P90X or Insanity?
Which of these (if any) is better for the beginner, and which is better for someone with limited "space" to work out in?

My before and after picture....
I seriously started using MFP from Feb 2012, so it only took me a little under 6 months to lose 6 stone 2 pounds (86 pounds)...

Saw this on TV - http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/skinny_beef_lasagne_87277 I've re-created the recipe on my own recipe tab of MFP and substitued the semi-skimmed milk for uht skimmed milk, and one portion came out at 330 calories (less than half of the calories of a regular lasagne portion) and it tasted great!

The Truth About Sports Products
Did anyone see the BBC 1 programme "The Truth About Sports Products"? If not, try and catch it on BBC iPlayer. It was extremely interesting and scientists are saying that the advertising behind sports drinks, running shoes, protein supplements etc., is all just hype and that NONE of these products have a positive affect on…

It's gone!
What? What's gone? The sciatica!!! Since losing weight, I have not suffered a single day from sciatic, whereas before I started with MFP, I was taking painkillers 2 - 3 times per day :-)

Evening "munchies"...
My tip for anyone who suffer from the evening munchies - drink a glass of water and go to bed. It's as simple as that :-)

Early morning running - when to eat?
So, I've signed up for a RunKeeper fitness class - beginner to marathon in 16 weeks (we'll see!). My plan is to get up and go for an early morning run before I have to wake up the rest of the family for work and school. I was hoping to get up and pretty much go straight out running - is this advisable? If so, should I eat…

Advice please for abs and obliques..
OK, I'm 5 lbs from the goal weight that I set myself. I can now fit back into medium t-shirts (I was XXL) and regular sized trousers. Overall, I think I look OK with the weight that I am at. When I lose the last 5 lbs, I'll be a couple of lbs inside of the "healthy" BMI range. BUT (and there's always a but) - I don't like…

What to eat and when?
Having lost 69 pounds already, I'm within 5 of my ideal weight - but now I have hit a plateau. MFP has me on 1250 calories with the goal of 2 pounds per week loss. I normally eat just under 100 calories for breakfast, between 400 and 500 for lunch, with the remainder at dinner time. Should I be doing this the other way…

Which song do you wish was written for/about you?
If there is just ONE song that you wish could have been written either for or about you, what would it be? For me, it would be "Follow Me Home" by The Sugababes.

Just a bit of advice to anyone wanting to take Argos up on their half price offer on the Reebok Edge 2.2 Treadmill - DON'T!!! I purchased this very same treadmill in December 2010, because it was suitable for people up to 18st 3lbs, and had a 2 year warranty. I didn't really start to use it until this year when I started…

Diet combined with marathon training
Here's a question - how should I balance my diet with training for a potential marathon? At the moment, I am overweight and am using myfitnesspal to keep track of my calorie intake. I'm a male currently on 1440 calories per day. At the same time, I have put my name into the ballot for the 2013 London Marathon, and…

Exercising and calorie counting and NOT losing weight
Some advice please. If a woman exercises for an hour a day at LEAST 3 times per week, and is using this website to keep count of the calories AND is sticking to the 1200 calorie daily limit, why would they not lose weight? She uses the Salter Mi-Body scales which measure weight, BMI, BMR, Muscle Mass, % Water, Visceral fat…

Pasta and rice calories - cooked or uncooked????
I'm finding it hard to determine the exact calorie count of rice and pasta. I bought a packet of Asda's Penne pasta, and it gives me the nutritional information based on 100g COOKED (although it didn't say that on the website when I checked the information). Other brands give the nutritional information not specifying…

Google ads on this site - funny or not?
I know how Google Ads work - they tailor themselves to the site that they're being dispalyed on. Obviously you get some generic ads, but in the past 10 minutes on here, I've seen a Google Ad for Cadbury's Creme Eggs inviting me to play the goo games AND if that's not bad enough, I've just seen an ad called "FatFX" by…
