Are these bars healthy?
I eat a 'pulsin' bar every morning before work with a banana. I'm not very well educated on 'macros' so would love someone else's opinion... I'm looking for a convenient low gi high-ish protein breakfast which was how I found these. http://www.pulsin.co.uk/maple-whey-crisp-protein-50g-bar-18-case

Pros and Cons of being short and trying to lose?
I'm pretty short - 5 2" and I feel like I have to eat a lot less to lose constantly... which is difficult sometimes... but, the lbs I do lose do show more so there is a flip side I suppose! anyone else got any weight related pros and cons for being short?

Anyone got PCOS?
Not sure if this is in the correct forum, so apologies. Just wondered if there was a PCOS group/thread someone could direct me to - I'd like to rest other people's experiences of weight control with this disorder.

going to the health food shop... and recs?
I'm making my fortnightly trip to my local heath food shop - i love it there, they have every herb/spice/grain/seed/tea and you can scoop and bag your own so you only buy what you need (saves me loads of money...) anyway, after spending some time on this site I have noticed a couple of things recommended, for instance,…

research behind eating more to lose more?
Upon joining this site I have noticed a lot of talk about how eating more can actually lead to losing more in the long run... I'm very confused, surely the less you eat the more you lose, it is as simple as that? but I have heard people claiming things like eating 1500cals instead of 1000cals leads to losing more! I know…

smoking? surely not...
I am an ex 30 a day smoker. Giving up was one of the best things I have ever done and would never go back, it actually irritates me slightly that some people seem to feel slightly sorry for me, like I am missing out?! anyway, rant over; there is a girl i know who is boderline anorexic, she exercises very heavily and is…

1200 cals a day 40mins exercise no loss this week...
I'm really really upset, and kind of feel like crying. I feel like I have been really good this week and have really deprived myself - and I just weighed myself post BM and I have actually gained 0.5 lb. I have been eating more or less 1200cals and doing the 30day shred which I have never done before, and i have gained. I…

Stevia?
I've heard great things about stevia- I haven't tried it but would like to, I'm not overly fond of other sweetners in their 'granulated' form but love diet coke etc, just wondered if anyone could tell me what its like? is there anyway to get it in the uk? I have looked up stock-lists but not sure if they are all that…

drinking alcohol...
so, I'm pleased with how my weight loss is going, however part of that may be because I haven't had a night out in a while. :drinker: The way it usually works is that I have a normal days food (1200cals say) then drink about 2 bottles of wine (which I already drink very long with soda water- i drink fast) and finish the…

anyone not overweight still looking to lose?
I've found the support here absolutely fantastic, for some reason I thought people may judge me for wanting to lose weight despite the fact that I am not actually 'overweight' (as they do everyday in real life :-( ) just wondering if there is anyone else who is 'healthy' BMI but still looking to lose a little? I just want…

this article is why I don't exercise!
http://www.guardian.co.uk/lifeandstyle/2010/sep/19/exercise-dieting-public-health this has totally confused me... however whenever I exercise, i admit i DO feel like eating a lot more than I have burnt off; so maybe they have a point? :-(

struggling with moderation...
One of the things I really struggle with in life is the 'grey areas'... I am an 'all or nothing' person, and it drives me MAD. i was happily eating 1000 or less a day to lose weight, and feeling great about it, now I discover I actually need to eat more, to effectively lose weight, particularly if I want to lose fat and…

1200(cals) is surely an abstract number?
I have seen people debate if 1200 calories a day is enough/not enough to loose weight. From what I can see, it is the minimum number of calories this site will recommend eating. The trouble is, I am am only 5ft 3, so 1200 is a lot more for my body than say, a man who is 6ft 4. According to this site my BMR is less than…
