I have recently found myself very attracted to this little beaut.... Anyone had any good/bad experience of Genesis road bikes?

Any nutritionists in here?
That can recommend a good starting book for someone who wants to learn about nutrition for health & fitness. Had a quick look on Amazon but the reviews are mixed for the top few. Thanks Andy

InBody 720
Anyone been analysed by one of these devices or anyone got experience using them - I'm wondering how accurate / useful they are....I can get a report from one at my local gym for £10 but wonder if it's worth the money. We have body fat scales at home but their accuracy is sketchy at best, it can give you 3 different…

Pain in the Mits
Ok, I'm going to swallow my embarrassment here and ask for some advice/help. I've managed to lose a bit of weight but still carry excess in my belly & of course the moobs, mitties, call em what you will. I've been doing a lot of running in the last couple of months, regular soccer and have recently added weight training to…

Just completed
Just sayin ! Week 5 Day 3 - 5k in 30 minutes which I was delighted with and shocked myself with repeating it for the second hlad and got the 10k completed bang on 60 minutes. So very tired but so very chuffed ! Full story of my transition from 5k to 10 k can be found in my blog here -…

Bridge to 10K
I graduated the bridge to 10k programe when I ran 10k this morning. Completely shocked myself as I hadn't trained for a week and had been eating unhealthily while on holiday. 10k is far enough for me though, no immediate desire to stretch out to the half marathon. Well not yet :) For those interested you can read the whole…

Major Milestone Met (+pix)
What can I tell you about this journey that hasn't been written better already on here, not much I guess. I've been "big" all my adult life, stout some would say, well built was popular, robust, rotund, portly or when my ego allowed it "powerful". Once the shirt was off however there was only one word that I can consider…

Week 9 - tadaaaaa - The 5k !!
Avoiding my own logic of not to push my luck, I took myself down to Strathclyde park, where there is a measured 5k route. Warmed up, pressed play & ....... DID IT! The time of 32.24 is respectable, a benchmark for me to work to, the comfort level was low, I struggled towards the end but I'm going to rest myself for a day…

Recent 5k grad, moving up
Any advice, tips? What weeks are the hell weeks? A bit nervous about it but then I never guessed I could do a 5k!

Surprise NSV..
Had to go get some new clothes because the old ones are baggy now - yay. Got a new pair of jeans from a Next clearance shop, no changing room so I had to risk the size. Took a punt on a pair of 36" waist jeans, hoping to hell that I could fasten them....having been up at a 42" when I started losing. Well got them home and…

Tender Stomach when starting
I get a sensitive, tender lower stomach muscle when I start to run, it's the same group of muscles you use when you do crunches, is this a normal thing? It does ease up after a few minutes and doesn't seem to hinder movement but it's always there. Anything to be concerned about?

Can you carry forward spare calories?
Yesterday I put a serious shift in at the gym, ate as much as I could comfortably manage and still had 1000 cals left at the end of the day, today is a rest day and I have eaten my daily allowance yet I still feel snacky, is it ok to carry over yesterdays spare cals into today or will that do more harm than good?

Stretching
I know I'm supposed to be stretching before and after a workout but I'm not sure how long I should spend on each muscle...advice?

Hi all
Been using the MFP app for a few months, just started using the community side of it...it's a busy old place! Anyway, I'm a 42 year old bloke from Scotland, who's weight has yo-yo'd for years, although lately it's been more yo so I got back on my bike and started eating properly, now I'm getting nearer my target :-D.…
