I never drink the amount of water i'm supposed to. In fact I probably don't drink enough. Does drinking water really help when you are on a calorie controlled diet?

I'm so bored of eating the same stuff every day! But there's no really interesting ingredients that I can use around the house, we have the normal, a lot of herbs and spices, fresh meat, processed meat, normal cupboard stuff (soup, beans etc.) pasta blah blah blah but I never seem to eat anything interesting!
