water weight from an extra hard workout..
Yesterday I did my favorite TaeBo DVD called "Cardio Explosion." It is a tough one, but I love it. I haven't done it in about 2 weeks. Since its been nice outside I've been trying to do my exercise running/walking. I found it was much tougher yesterday than when I was doing it every day. After it was all said and done in…

alcohol calories
Hey everyone! I'm recently back on track after a few months of avoiding the scale. I stepped on the scale on May 1 for the first time in almost 6 months and almost passed out when I saw the number. I've gained 15 pounds!! So, last week I did very well and lost 5 lbs. Saturday night I went out with girlfriends and had…

new HRM - now what?!
Well, I've taken a break from the scale and from MFP. I've been exercising 4 days a week between different TaeBo tapes and recently started running. Somehow I've gained 15 lbs since the last time I stepped on the scale (about 5 months ago). I could tell things weren't fitting right, but the number on the scale this morning…

frustration to the point of tears.. help!
I am in some serious need of help. I've, somehow, gained 5 pounds in the last month or 6 weeks. As far as exercise is concerned I was only doing about 20 minutes of tae bo a day. I saw the scale was starting to go up, so I went out and bought a new tae bo DVD and I now do 40 minutes a day! Since I started doing the 40…

I can't find anything in the exercise area about walking and pulling a wagon... does anyone have idea how many calories burned this adds? I was pulling my 45 lb child. Thanks! :)

why I stopped MFP
I just came back for the first time in nearly a month. When I first started I lost a quick 6-7 pounds, but then got stuck. Id exercise and burn approximately 510 calories a day, eat around 1300 and not really move the scale. Then I got sick and didn't work out for a week, ate closer to 1500 calories a day and boom... lost…

Followup from the NO starvation thread... net BMR or eat BMR
A lot of people were talking in the previous thread about eating your BMR. Does that mean we want to eat our BMR or net our BMR? That thread was SO interesting to me. Trying to soak it all up. :)

Do you burn more calories when sick?
Hey everyone, I was diagnosed with a UTI on Monday. By Tuesday I was feeling a lot better from the infection, but still really tired and did not exercise Monday or Tuesday. Wednesday I was feeling great after a lot of sleep the night before and decided to exercise, but after 20 minutes I felt like I was going to throw up…

speed on stationary bike vs bicycling
I see on the exercise database they have speeds for bicycling, but not under stationary bike. If I go 15-20 mph on a stationary bike would it be the same category (vigorous, very vigorous) under bicycling?

sodium and water
Hey everyone, Most days I'm right at or below my 2500 of sodium, but I find there are days when I go way over, i.e. taco night, or really anything mexican food related. I drink A LOT of water in a day, between 13-19 glasses. My husband says as long as I'm working out and sweating and drinking lots of water the sodium…

Do you REALLY need to match your calories?
Hey everyone, I'm new here and have lots of questions. Mainly, is it really necessary to eat that 1200 calories a day? After exercise my calorie intake generally goes up to about 1800. I cant fathom eating that much in a day and losing weight. I usually net anywhere between 300-700 calories a day, but eat overall about…
