Do they make such a thing? I've been looking at fitness trackers, fitbit, body media, and garmins new vivofit. But what I really want is one that can also track my runs and tell me pace as I'm going. Tell me there's one out there!

My Success- 13.1!
Oldest ds is a cross country runner in high school. He heard about a half marathon in Yellowstone. We have a cabin near Yellowstone, and go there often, its a home away from home for us. So Oldest ds convinced me to run the Yellowstone Half Marathon with him. After losing weight, and realizing it was something I could…

My 1 year "fitiversary"
1 year ago I decided it was time to stop "playing" with getting healthy, and really DO IT! I played with myfitnesspal pal for a few months, and lost some weight, but 1 year ago today I committed to logging it all, the good days, the over on calorie days...everything, My counter won't show 365 days, because some of those…

My NSV
In January, I've ran 100 miles. A year ago- I couldn't run halfway down the block. Today, I did 3.5- came in, logged it on mapmyrun, and found I'd run 99 miles. Yah, I went out and ran 1 more for an even 100. What a feeling of accomplishment! Im down 65 lbs, and have been maintaining since Nov, and feel amazing!

My NSV for the day
I was returning an item at the store, and the clerk asked to see id. I handed her my drivers license, and she didn't think it was me. She questioned me, and asked me my name, and I looked up, and she said, "oh, it is you, wow! You look different, you've lost a lot if weight!" I just grinned. Yup!

First "official" 5k on sat!
I'm excited! I say "official" because I have done 5ks as part of triathlons, but after the swim and bike, the run was much much more walking than running. And those were before i lost weight. It's just a local race with the entry fees being canned food for the food bank. :) my oldest ds -a cross country runner on the high…

Wow! I'm At goal!!!
So, a friend of mine cleaned out her closets, and sent me 2 huge bags of clothes. (My poor closet was looking empty) In them were 2 pair of size 8 pants, one coral skinny jeans, and one brand new jeans with tags still on- lol. But anyhow, tried the coral ones on, and THEY FIT!!! My goal has been to fit into 8s. I think…

NSVs keep me going
The Scale has been stuck and bouncing up and down a few lbs lately. I'm easing into maintenance, as I have about 10 lbs to goal--err 1 more pants size- so I'm ok with going slow (most days-lol) So these NSVs really keep me motivated: Last Saturday- I RAN 5 miles! (Ok- so i galloway walked every 4th minute,- but i count…

Winter running?
Here comes winter, my run on Friday was on a couple inches of snow- and 22 degrees F. It wasn't slippery, and the sun was shining, and the wind wasn't blowing, so it wasn't bad, but I can see I have many many more cold snowy runs ahead of me. So what do you do differently in the winter? Clothing recommendations? Shoes? Do…

Signed up for Half marathon!!!!
Wow! I'm excited, nervous and scared! By I just paid the $$$(yes, it was a spendy race!) for myself and my oldest son to run a half marathon next June. Can't believe I'm really going to do this! So far, the farthest I've run is 3 miles. So it'll take some building up to. I have time though, so that's good. Thanks to…

Aak- that should be run, Walk run Anyone use this for running, training? In my insane moment- I told my oldest ds I would run a half marathon with him next summer. Picking a goal weight??
This sounds crazy- but how did you go about picking a goal weight? An arbitrary number? Pick a number out of the air? Is there some sort of scientific method to it? Figure BMI? (Which I don't think is the best indicator) Reason I ask- I originally picked 150 as my goal weight. --- yes, a number I just pulled out of…

Encouraging your family to be active?
I havent posted much on here- but lurk for great advice and recipes. Since I started using mfp in early march, I'm down 39 pounds, and feeling great. I've been thnking how important it is to have an active lifestyle, and not just exercise to lose the weight, and then stop. We are becoming an active family, hiking has…

A friend of a friend came by, and I gave my old size 20s to her. Then at cub scouts pack meeting last night one of the other moms- a young, super fit mom told…
