I've been looking at heart rate monitors- looking at the polar ft7- looks to be a great one for swimming, . -- does it sync automatically with myfitnesspal? Is there a swimming one that does? Or is that wishful thinking?

I have the Polar FT7 - it does not sync to MFP. You would have to enter the calories burned manually (just edit whatever MFP tells you after you enter the activity/time). FitBit and BodyMedia Fit do sync, but... I wouldn't wear either one of those swimming (so you'd have to enter what you did on their respective websites, anyway). I hope that helps :)

Thanks! I was hoping there was one that worked for swimming that connected with myfitnesspal. :( darn!

I love my Polar FT7. Not trying to say this in a mean way but, it takes less than a minute to log your calories burned. If you have time to log your food and actually do your exercise what's so hard about logging your calories?

I loved my FT7, and it can be used for swimming, but I never had it work properly in the water - just so you know. It constantly lost the connection with the transmitter and just ended up being frustrating.

Works great on land though :)

It's not necessarily hard to log my calories- just thought it would be cool if it did it automatically. I'm logging my workouts now- but thought this would be more accurate in telling how many calories I burned, But if it doesn't work all that well in the water, I'd probably just get frustrated with it! Lol

Anyone know if Is there one that does work well in the pool?
