I'm really doing it...and the mistakes I've made recently.
In August of 2010 I made a lifestyle change. I've lost 98 lbs and I've gained strength and stamina. Today I'm running my first race ever! I'm running an 8k. I know I will probably be walking a good chunk of this race, but I am still going to do it! I will be running with a friend that trains and is ready to support and…

Inpirational story ...Happy New Year
Aug 2010 - 235...obese woman with zero activity. Had the ahaha moment. Changed my life for the positive. I started walking and eating right. A couple months ago, while filling out the questionaire for my 12 year old to be able to use the equiptment at our gym: The question is why do you want to have access to the…

Homeschool moms (and dads) unite!
Thought I'd start a thread for a group I haven't seen on here! Hope you are all having a great year thus far. Us homeschooling parents know that along with our "normal" subjects comes alot of other subjects. I know you are likely teaching your children healthy habits along with you! I have 2 children: girl age 12 and boy…

What should I do to celebrate?
I'm 1.5 lbs from losing 100 lbs and my goal weight. I've already gotten the new wardrobe (would be naked if I didn't). I don't want to go out for dinner....nothing special about that. What should I do to celebrate? Looking forward to your ideas!

I decided it was time for a hair cut...continue on with the new me makeover. I went and got it cut today and the first things out of the mouths of my 12 and 13…

How do I log this?
Ok MFP pals...I thought you could all get a chuckle out of this. Disclamier: No I'm not serious about wanting to log this as exercise! Made my husband's sandwich for his lunch this morning and left it on the counter in a baggie. Sat down to check my email and looked up to see the cat on the counter approaching the…

So sad!
Ok, my daughter has had Volleyball games on the days of Zumba for the last 2 weeks. So, I've been walking/running. Not as fun, but I'm still moving. I finally get to go to Zumba last night and I was having an asthma attack so I don't go. I go to the doctor this morning, and no exercise for at least 3 days! I'm on a round…

Well, I broke my toe. Go figure! I just started running and now this. I can't even put on a shoe. But, I tell you what...this will not derail my activity. I will plop on some flip flops and go ride my bike! So there...action that could derail me!!! I will not be derailed! I wouldn't know what to do with myself if I had to…

Someone help me explain this
Ok...I lost 90 lbs in a year. Then I lost 1 more pound in the last 4 weeks. I have been eating the same amount of calories. MFP is set at 1300 and I exercise 4-5 x's per week. I do eat back most of my exercise calories but not all. I have also recently started running on top of my 3 x's per week Zumba class. I really…

NSV...even after 92lbs
Even after losing 92lbs this NSV is the best victory as of yet! Today I ran my first mile since I was a freshman in high school...over 22 years ago! Up till this point I've walked 3-5 miles or done Zumba. The pride I feel can be likened to the emotion I felt giving birth to my children. Euphoria! I hope that you too will…

It's more than just a number!
I was thinking the other day how I orginally wanted to get down to 130 lbs. I thought that would be a good weight for me. I'm 5'4" (use to be 5'3"). The old rule of thumb was 100 lbs for 5 ft and 5 lbs for each inch after that. I thought that was insane and knew I would never look good at 115 or 120 lbs. Now that I've lost…

90 lbs gone and so much gained!
This week marks my one year anniversary of my lifestyle change. One year ago I had the realization that I couldn't go on treating my body the way I was and still be around for my children. I said good bye to the old me and hello to a new healthier me. It has been a journey of faith, love and determination. I am a better…

bye bye 78lbs
