Who manages cardio 5/6 days a week?
I'm heading towards cardio 5/6 days a week, 7k trail run or 20 mile bike ride. I know from past experience my body is up for it and I do run/ride at high intensity (85% max average HR for run with regular peaks to 95% on 10-15% gradients, and 80% max average on cycle rides with the same 'peaks'). I'm just waking up some…

NSV, getting my fitness back! Half Century.
So I've started training again 3.5 weeks ago (before that it was not at all, or maybe twice a month). Woke up this morning and fancied a challenge.... so mapped out a half century (56 miles, 90km) and completed it on my bike :) . My average mph wouldn't set the world on fire (15mph - 2 years ago I was doing centuries @…

How to keep motivated after 'the event'?
Hi, So I've been at this for 15 or so days (maybe a couple of days longer!). I'm not tracking weight but bodyfat in lbs. So far I've lost 3.5lbs of fat and would like to lose another 15-20 lbs. In theory at say 1.5lbs of fat every week that's another 10-15 weeks. My 'event' is a holiday in 3.5 weeks time. Hoping to work…

mmmmm, Jelly
While I'm in no way suggesting this is healthy or nutritious I have to say that Hartley's sugar free jelly is ace! It's about 30ish calls per PINT! :) . Perhaps a good way to stave off any cravings? I've just eaten 1/2 pt and feel stuffed. Probably a really good way of getting more water in you as well... I'm sure the…

Having difficulty eating enough!!
Hi, So I've been tracking for 10 days now. My BMR is 1800 and I work from home at the computer so a 1.2x multiplier seems reasonable = 2160 calories per day. I've been tracking to 1400 per day (so 760 defect) and I've thinking of going a little higher than that (31 year old male) to perhaps 1600-1800, being healthy and all…

Gadgets I use to keep motivated :).
Well, Naturally the first is myfitnesspal so I know exactly where I am each day. Brilliant. The reason this 'wins' over others for me is the barcode scanner, UK foods, and 'always with me' iPhone app... now only if it could integrate into my other 3 fitness gadgets.... : 1) Garmin Forerunner 305 - Brilliant bit of kit I've…

Been at it for 6 days.
Hi, Found this cool iPhone app that actually has UK foods! Great! Also bought a 'Withings Scale' Gone from 181lbs to 174lbs in a week (approx 22% body fat :( ). I'm on 1300 calories per day with a 1 day @ just over maintenance each week to keep things ticking over. I'm 6ft 1 and 31 years old (male). Very slim build but…
