I don't have to be that person.
I've been struggling for a while, to exercise more and eat fewer calories. (I joke with my sister, "Hey! I should write a book about weight-loss secrets!") My latest epiphany is about who I am, and who I can be. I used to be a person who, when there were doughnuts in the break room, always took one. Or Toblerone (we have…

Wii Fit Free Step calories?
I did Wii Fit Free Step last week for 20 mins (which is how much time I have in the mornings, usually), 1600 steps, and it was just OK. So today, I increased the tempo to the max, and it continued for the full 20 minutes, but I did almost 1900, I think. But the exercise log counts Fit Step all the same. How do I account…

I've also found that if I try to substitute just plain sweet (like diet soda, or a piece of fruit), I'm not satisfied, and still crave something more. Anyone else dealing with this? Some things I've found that help are -a lowfat Graham cracker -a measured…

It really works!
I'm just starting my weight loss journey. Lost the 1.5 pounds/week that WW always talks about, for 3 weeks. Very happy with myself. Then, last weekend, just could not find good choices to eat, made mistakes, missed my exercise with a sick kid, stayed home with sick kid and ate out of boredom. Frustrated. Didn't even weigh…

Nearing 50, want to change direction
I'm 46 1/2 and seeing some of my friends really change their lives for the better. They're making life-changing decisions to exercise more often, eat better, and in some cases, do surgery (a friend has lost nearly 200 pounds after lap-band surgery! I'm so proud of her!). I keep seeing pictures of me and think, "Ugh, I look…
