Introduction
I am 59 almost 60. I stopped exercising around 6 years ago and gained weight. At 54 I was able to wear a bikini. I use my old photo as my motivation. I want my body back. I believe I can achieve this. I am starting with cardio and slowly adding weights in.

Percentage aerobics vs strength training.

attending and having parties
I had a Halloween party this past Saturday. I did well at the party, but the next day I blew my diet on left overs. I try to give away most of the food by sending home packages with my guests. eating less than calorie goals
I have consistently completed 60 minutes of cardio 5 times per week. I have been unable to eat my calorie goal as I get full. I gained 5 1bs since starting, although I do not appear to have gained any weight and my clothes fit the same. Is the calorie deficit hurting my weight loss? Deborah

I gained 5 pounds, but seem just as thin.
I was within 25 pounds of my weight goal. I started a combination of 90 minutes of cardio and 30 minutes of strength training. Most days I only get 60 minutes of cardio. I stick to my calorie limits. Is it normal to gain weight initially? Someone told me this was likely due to gaining muscle. Deborah

I just finished my first day of exercise on my new fitness program. I need to keep myself motivated. This is hard work. My goal is to lose 25 lbs and get toned.
