a way to track fruits and veggie intake per day?
Hi everyone! I love MFP so much, best food database and iphone app out there. The only thing I wish is that they had a way to track certain things like servings of fruits and veggies per day as sometimes I need a friendly reminder to track things like this (this is what I liked about Weight watchers but I would rather do…

TDEE method...does it work?
I have been reading about this TDEE method of calculating calories. I just learned about it from my personal trainer who I like but I never like to take diet advice from a personal trainer because I have had bad luck with that in the past. Is it a load of crap or does it really work? I try to eat at 1500 calories a day but…

should i exercise if i am sick?
I am on this intense workout program with my personal trainer (I finally found a trainer I love) and now starting to see results and getting in the groove of it all. I am frustrated because I work out with her intensely ( weights and cardio in gym) for an hour M, W, F and Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays I do cardio only…

does this look like a good daily menu?
I am starting with a personal trainer program at my gym. They have a group of people doing this type of diet (see posted below) and we will do that and workout (weights and cardio) six times a week for 8 weeks. They said they have seen incredible results in a short time (they had a group last time that lost 60 inches in…

weightwatchers opinions please
I did weight watchers like 10 years ago and it was the point system and it worked well for me. I like the support of the meetings. Well, they changed their point system a few years back where it was so confusing for me that I could not follow it (just too hard to figure out points values). I joined MFP and love it but not…

Any cool iphone apps for exercise?
I am looking for an app that will give me ideas for exercises I an do at home (with free weights or other home equipment) to work certain parts of the body. I am really tired of exercise videos (I get bored of them fast because of bad music or having to watch the instructor make the same jokes over and over..lol) so I…

anybody's fitbit overestimating calories suddenly?
I have a one and it just seems like it is way overestimating my calories in the past few days (like 4 days). I have been exercising more than normal but did not think it would add as many calories as it has. I feel like it is not making adjustments for the exercises I am adding in from my HRM. anybody else having this…

JM body revolution reviews?
Anybody done it and had success? I just ordered it as I have done her other workouts in the past and loved them. I also have insanity but do not think I am at that fitness level yet so I thought I would start with this first. If you did it, did you follow the meal plan to and/or what calorie level did you stay on with it?

need advice
Hi everyone! Happy Sunday. I just need advice on what to do with this situation. I hired a personal trainer 2 months ago. At first I really clicked with her but now I just dread going to her workouts and as a result am trying to find any reason possible to not go and actually working out less than I did before her. Her…

30 day shred vs. insanity/P90x type workouts
I see on here that many women have trouble losing weight on insanity or P90x workouts. I did the entire P90x workout last year and lost about 5 lbs overall but looked a lot better. I want to lose weight but also want to lose inches too. Why would women do better on the 30ds workout vs. the other intense workouts like…

Jaw up or fitbit?
I am finally wanting one of these devices although I currently have a polar heart rate monitor and I love it (use only during my workouts) so not sure how to use this with one of these devices...can anybody explain that to me and also tell me which one is better: fitbit or Jawbone up? I want something that works well with…

How many servings of fruits and veggies do you eat per day?
I have a personal trainer and she said I should eat between 8-10 servings per day and by servings she does mean cups (like one serving equals one cup). I am having a hard enough time eating 5 cups a day but doing it , some days I hit 7...but gosh I get gassy (sorry TMI). Is eating 5 a day not enough? Also, I love coconut…

What are the benefits to having a fitbit AND a hrm?
I am thinking of buying a fitbit to track my daily steps since I am so sedentary (thought it might motivate me to get up off my *kitten* more often since I work at home) but I also have a polar HRM that I LOVE to see how hard I am working during workouts. Do any of you have both of these type of things and how do you work…

for all you people with success stories:
congratulations! I am doing research on what people do on here to achieve the best goals. I am wondering, for those of you that stuck to this and lost over 50lbs ...how did you: 1. set up your MFP settings: did you use the custom (manual) or just go by the settings it gave you once you put in your activity level 2. set it…

Polar FT7 HRM, is it accurate?
Hi everyone...just curious if anybody had one of these HRM? I posted something on here last night saying I used one and one member here said that they are not accurate for women but I always heard they were the most accurate HRM (polar brand in general). I eat back my exercise calories so just now worried about it. I used…

what do you think of my plan...
I have decided to change my plan of eating since low calorie eating only seems to work for so long and it makes me want to binge and have no energy. I have emotional eating problems so if I get too hungry it is NOT good. I do not want to do TDEE-20% (even though I have researched it a lot and see it works for a lot of…

How many of you eat at your BMR (net calories)?
Does it work for weight loss? I have been doing a ton of reading about the TDEE-20% method and my exercise routine is too inconsistent because of my work schedule to be able to use that method so I thought maybe eating net at my BMR would work the same. I also love to track my exercise and eat back calories as it motivates…

Okay I decided to start a new thread as the one I posted yesterday really help me understand TDEE method. I get it now...take the TDEE number -20% and do not eat back calories. I decided after doing a lot of reading that I would still like to use MFP settings because I really love to use my polar heart rate monitor to…
