Where do you find all the races?
I am checking everything I can but I can´t find any 5k or easy 10k here around. Seems like everyone is running at least 10k trail, better half-Marathons or Marathons. I don´t see myself running a 10k trailrun soon, a 10k in autumn would be nice so I could train for it during summerbreak. It is hard for me to stay focused…

Today was my first official 5k
I ran my first 5k after finishing the program mid April. It was warm! And I wasn´t expecting that many people. I had to walk some minutes, especially during and after the steep hill in the beginning. But yeah, I did it! I ran with my 16year old son and my 13year old daughter and my goal was under 40 minutes. I did it in…

Running the day before the run?
I will finally run my first official 5k tomorrow. Today would be intervaltraining according to my bridge to 10k plan. I plan to do it but some people say I shouldn´t do it before the run. Should I just run a slow 3k instead? Or not run at all? Please give me some advice!!!

Difference between running and trail running shoes?
Can anyone please explain me the difference? I try to find new routes and most of them I would consider trails. Stoney, eneven surface, hills, mud, puddles...I don´t want to hurt my ankles. I went to the sportsshop today and all they have are running shoes, walking shoes and hiking shoes. There is nothing in between. I…

First 5k, please tell me your times!
My first 5k ever will be in 3 weeks and I have no idea if I am slow or somewhere in the middle. Please, what was the final time of your first 5k? My main goal is to finish it. That won´t be a problem, I have walked 5k a lot of times. But when I run I feel like a snail. I started tracking distance/time for the first time…

I finshed week 8 *happydance*
I am so happy. I did my last run in week 8 and now I can´t wait for week 9 to finish the program. I measured time and distance and I ran/walked 5k in 40.28min. I did 2 mins warmup, 28 mins running, 2mins walk and then some 30 sec sprints. :) I think I am prepared for my first official 5k! This program is amazing! I can´t…

Done with week 6, I am so happy!
I am done with week 6! I skipped day 2 and went directly to day 3, but I kept adding extra intervalls the last 2 weeks and felt ready for it. I am so happy! I still can´t believe I can do it. I was running today and I was talking to myself how surprised I am that I didn´t even think about stopping or walking, that I am so…

Women-One thing that made it easier for me to run ...
...was the purchase of a really perfect fitting sportsbra! It makes such a difference. Not only do I have a way better posture but I also don´t have to struggle with slipping straps, rubbing sides and bouncing breasts. Anyone else made that experience? :glasses:

How important are shoes for the beginner?
As I read about shoes and the proper fit here frequently I wonder how important they are for the beginner? I must admit when I bought my shoes the price was quite a big point. There are shoes in all price cathegories and I understand, that if you are an advanced runner and run a lot of miles a week it might make a…

Hi, I am 45 years old and started running just recently. I have always been a swimmer. I could walk for hours. But running is a new experience. I do the program with my 13 year old daughter, it was really fun in week 1. So I am very confident about week 2. I will read through all your advices and hope to run my first 5k in…

Hungry when tired?
Hi, I am a mom of four and relatively new to this site here. I noticed that when I am overtired which I sometimes happen to be during the weeks I get so hungry that it is hard for me to keep with my calories. When I got enough rest instead it is way easier. I know, I should sleep more then. But that is hardly possible. Has…

Hairproblems
I fear that is a side effect of my strict eating, I lost a lot of hair after the first year 2009 and I haven´t quite recovered from that. Has anyone else the same problems? My doctors don´t take it serious, they think it is an age thing, hormons and so on...I am 44, can´t believe that this is the matter. I started taking…
