The Sufferfest?
Anyone else use a trainer in the winter and do the Sufferfest videos? I just discovered them a few months ago and love them. Right now I am on day two of the "Tour of Sufferlandria" which is 12 videos over 9 days. Just wondering if there are any other Sufferlandrians here on MFP? (If you have no clue what I am going on…

Dream Race?
I signed up for the lottery to enter the NYC marathon in November. I am not expecting to get in, but if you register 3 years in a row and do not get in, you are automatically in your 4th year, so I'm okay with that! Anyone else have a "dream race"?

Training and fatigue?
Hi ya'll! I have noticed that I have waxing and waning fatigue since I started this bout of marathon training. I tried adding more carbs to my diet to no avail. There are some days where I just feel blah, sore and tired. Today is one of those days. I am in the midst of a flare making my right leg numb through the dorsal…

Blogging about my Marathon training with MS
Hi all! I have been diagnosed with Relapsing-Remitting MS since 2007. I am writing a weekly blog regarding my current marathon training (first one, only have been running for 1.5 years) and what this is like with my MS. I would love to have more MFP friends who are also living with MS. I myself have lost 78 pounds and have…

Confidence for your Marathon pace
I am running my first marathon this fall. I do my long runs at 1:30-2 min slower than my predicated marathon pace (Using McMillan tables for 10K). I am wondering how I increase my speed on race day without bonking when I didn't practice that while training? I am using a Hal Higdon's Novice 2 which does have you running…

Marathon training question
I am training for the Columbus Marathon (10/20) using Higdon's Novice 2 plan. He has you running 4 days a week: 2 short runs, a medium run and the long run. If my marathon training plan is about a)increasing my total weekly milage b) my weekly long run and c) pace runs to increase/build to race pace... Can I combine my 3…

Refueling-how often during long training runs
During my long runs I seem to need to refuel sooner than 60 minutes or I notice that my run suffers (legs sore, pace falls). I use Sports Beans for refueling-2 to 3 every 60 min of running. I think that I am staying plenty hydrated (I run with a camelbak) and I do eat about 2 hours before a run. Any thoughts on things I am…

Transition from treadmill to road running--advice?
I usually run before work on my treadmill (for safety issues as I run at 3 am), and even trained for a half marathon on the treadmill at 1% incline. I can run 12-15 miles easily on the treadmill. When I run outside my lateral knee begins to hurt at about 2 miles. I did finish my half marathon but I was significantly slower…
