p90X Kenpo too easy?
I did Kenpo for the first time yesterday. I tried my best to really get into it and managed to work up a sweat. But it was way too easy. I don't believe it will improve my cardio fitness level in any real way. I know when I do cardio at the gym or run, I work a lot harder than that. So I am thinking of doing that instead…

Exercising in a fasted state
Interesting article. I'm curious what people think. One of the comments questions whether people really burn fat when they exercise in a fasted state, or whether its actually muscle being burned and that is why the fasted group lost weight. Interesting...…

Something I find incredible; P90X and running.
So the backstory is that I was an avid runner, running 40-50 miles per week. I would run 7 miles a day, and 10+ when I felt good. I trained for my first marathon, but didn't make it. I sustained an overuse injury that has permanently ended my long running days. I was forced to find another form of fitness, so that's when I…

What is processed food?
I have a general sense - if it comes frozen, in an artificial shape, with preservatives or chemicals, if it doesn't go bad... But there are some things I am unsure of. For instance, frozen vegetables? What about the Steamfresh veggies you can cook in the microwave? (As a subset of that question - do these veggies have the…

P90X update (From 9-26 thread)
We seemed to have lost everyone from the group starting the end of September. Just wanted to see how everyone is doing, as well as others that are mid-P90X. I am on day 43 and haven't missed a work-out. I will say that my muscle tone is greatly improved, and I can see it better since becoming more serious about diet. I…

Plyometrics and HIIT. Any difference?
My undestanding of HIIT is that it varies the most intense cardio anareobic exercise you can possibly do with periods of lesser intensity. I've been doing P90X and I feel like the Plyo is a HIIT work-out. After non-stop jump-knee-tucks I am at my MAX in a way I never felt before. I used to THINK I was doing HIIT on the…

Why am I gaining weight?
I am on my third week of P90X, and not only have I not lost weight, but I have gained a couple pounds. This does not make sense to me because I am under my calorie goal almost every day (except for Sunday). But I have gained a pound since this Monday. I have been aiming for the 50% Protein/30% Carb/20% Fat ratio that is…

Any P90Xers want to critique my diet?
I've been trying to follow the 50% protein/30%carbs/20% fat rule for the first phase. I am female, 5'1" and 104lbs at last weigh in. I have been following pretty closely, but now I'm a little freaked I am taking in too much protein. According to the ratio, for 1200 calories I need 150 grams. Today I had 167 by accident. Is…

Protein/Carbs P90X
I am starting P90X tomorrow and have a question regarding the portion method of eating. How many grams of protein constitute a serving of protein (out of the 5 allotted?). Same question for the carbs. For example, the guide lists oatmeal as one serving of carbohydrate. However, the oatmeal I eat also has 8 grams of…

Where did you buy your p90x?
Just wondering - as I am trying to get a good price. What website did you use? Is it sold in stores?

Question about p90x
I am really interested in doing the p90x system. My work-outs have always been monotonous, and I lack the variety that I probably need for overall fitness. My issues is this: I have found that when I do any type of strength work-out - lunges, squats, free-weights, my muscles are very sore at first. But then if I keep up…

So what do you log for food on pig-out days?
Been using MFP since Monday and it's been great at keeping me accountable. However, the weekend is fast approaching. Normally I try to be very good Monday through Friday and then the weekend I let go a little (or a lot). So if you are at parties, taking bites of this and that, or going out to eat, what do you log for food?…

Sugar - added vs. not added
I cannot meet my daily goal for sugar, and it is mainly because my daily fuji apple has 16 grams! I had no idea apples had so much sugar. Should I try to eat a less sugary fruit? Or should I not be concerned because it is "natural" sugar as opposed to added? Advice?

Hi I'm new! And wondering if there is anyone else like me he
Hello. I just found this site and it seems well organized to keep me on track. I am looking for support and am wondering if there is anyone else in my situation. I am a normal weight, but would like to lose about five pounds. I was just married three weeks ago, and was at a very comfortable weight then - and in three weeks…
