Tracking your intake like tracking your bank account
Just re-posting Matahairi's post from 2014. Why? Because it is good! "There is a great book I read called "Thin for Life". It gives great examples of how people maintained their weight loss over years. My best advice? Make MFP part of your life just like checking your email, voicemail, and bank balance, etc every day. What…

Mfp has been sold. What is to expect?
From Forbes: "When asked about how MyFitnessPal’s business model might change, Lee hinted at a premium version of the app where users paid for additional features that would increase their likelihood of weight loss success, or premium versions that could be prescribed to patients." Ouch!!

Latest Canadian research: Do diets work in long term?
Extract: "Approximately two-thirds of people who lose weight will regain it within 1 year, and almost all of them will regain it within 5 years.11 Although dieting (ie, caloric restriction) to lose weight is a difficult task, the maintenance of lost weight requires the patient to deploy even greater efforts. Potatoes, rice, bread and all that stuff
Question: Health-wise, if you eat enough proteins, lots of veggies and fruits, some milk or yogurt, do you really need to eat rice, potatoes or bread at every meal? I use to hear that they should be 1/4 of your plate, but is this just propaganda?

Plastic Surgery After Weightloss? - Sequel
Sequel and End. Well, I am awfully sad today (and I am ashamed to say that my old binging habits have won over - but tomorrow will be a new day and beginning). I am sad because a secret hope (that I have been nurtering for a long time and that kept me going) has blown away. First, the appointment with the surgeon went well…

Plastic surgery after weightloss?
I lost 195 pounds in the last 2 years without surgery. Lots of skin hanging everywhere... I have an appointment tomorrow with a surgeon to get information and opinion (and price) for my particular case. Any suggestions about what I should ( or must) check for and ask? Have you done or consider plastic surgery yourself?…

After all-inclusive Cuba vacation
I am so relieved this morning! I am back to my target weight after my Cuba vacation. I lost 10 pounds eating a bit over 1200 cal. for the last 3 days. I am still 3 pounds over what I weighed in on the day of the departure last week but being back to 135 in just 3 days is really fantastic! I admit that I overate and drank…

195 pounds in two years! What a difference! With pics.
For the third day in a row, I saw this number on the scale, 135! So I guess this is it. Today, May 16, 2014, I must make it official. My two-year quest has landed. My goal was to lose 195 pounds and it is done. For those who are just starting and those who are stalling, and for the ones that have tried every diet in the…

Two BMI standards??
I just turned "overweight" this week having been obese for all (most) of my life. People have started telling me I am fine right now and shouldn't lose more. Someone even told me that a girl who had been obese all her life shouldn't try to reach the same BMI standard as other people. Just not meant to be!!! Is that true?

Fitbit shows 432 cal. adjustment on nightstand
I think I am going to unlink Fitbit from MFP. Today, I forgot it it on my nightstand so I couldn't wear it. And now, at 3 PM, I got a 432 cal. adjustment!!! It' s not the first time that it got all wrong and it drives me nuts! It was  a waste of my money. I' m angry! Am I the only one with this problem?

Are you cold?
I am frequently soooo cold these days. Is this caused by my weight loss (over 100) or is it just a colder Canadian winter?
