I'm on too!

I am no expert but apparently, when you intensively exercise, your body retains water to repair micro muscle damages. Why don't you take a little brake, just doing soft walking, for a week or two, still logging and controlling your calories of course, limiting sodium intake, and see if it makes a difference! Yoga might be…

I would like to join. Thanks.

Ok. Count me in.

I've losing weight on Mfp for 2 years and maintaining for the last year. I can say that groups and friends are really more helpful than ever for me to keep active and keep on eating right and healthy.

I lost 195 pounds counting calories and still believe it is the way to go. At least for losing weight. As for maintaining, I figure that after a few years, some eating habits will become ingrained and everyday calorie counting won't be as important. Psychological underlying issues must also be addressed, otherwise nothing…

Congrats!

Well written, Ann! Thanks for sharing.

Think in terms of what you want to be (or become) rather than what you want to do. For example: "I want to be the kind of woman who looks good and healthy!" Not "I want to lose x pounds." I found this very helpful. Also, I kept repeating to myself: "if you don't want to start all over again, stop quitting!" Good luck!

Water is very important for your skin as well as proteins. And vitamins. So eat healthy and be patient...

I read that the dreaded 20 min. is more mental than physical. Maybe the same for 60 sec. Just try to do it.

A bit depressing but it also shows the path to maintenance...

Genetics, again. I have legs that look like sticks, really, but no waist to speak of. Quite square looking! That's life!

I never bought nor eaten protein powder in my life. Wouldn't know where to buy it anyway... Is there a substitute for the recipe?

I can't help you but i am looking forward to see the answers you'll get. I want to run a 4 km race in one month. Today, I ran intervals (1 min.run/30 s. Walk). I really wonder if I will make it at this rate. Does C25k really work?

If I were you, I'd do what the lady said but then, on the rest days, I would take a slow 30 min. or 60 min. walk. That should give you enough extra calories to eat and to make it sustainable. A real day of rest once a week where you challenge yourself to eat as much food as possible while still keeping at 1200 (lots of low…

I am hoping to find a way to be balanced in body and mind. I don't want to become an athlete that needs to perform all the time. I want to be healthy, in shape, balanced and happy. There's a lot on my plate ???? and I don't know how and if I will succeed... Please understand that I am not judging anybody's choices. And I…

I have much more energy throughout the day. I am off BP medication. No more hemorrhoids nagging me. I do not snore anymore. I can bike, no belly in the way. I walk way faster and for longer periods of time. I can jog, if I want, without fear of ridicule. So far, no more knee or back soreness. But I can't float as well...…

I am on maintenance since almost 3 months and it is not getting any easier. It is even trickier as I try different avenues and ponder on the future... I find motivation to be active is really harder since I am not doing it to lose weight. I also don't get the boost of losing a pound (more or less) and see it posted on Mfp…

Congrats! You are doing great! Try to find ways to enjoy the ride as it is going to be a long one, but you can do it. One day after the other, one meal after the other! Good luck!

Volunteering!

Just do what you can and what must be done, every day, every meal. Persevere: one step at a time, one step after the other. If it hurts, stop at once and do something different or try again later. Make it pleasurable, whether by trying different low calorie recipes or a new kind of exercise. I started at 330 pounds 2 years…

In the future I will try to do it, but not for a long time until I am confident that maintenance is deeply acquired. I have a lifetime of obesity and this won't be erased by magic! Got to learn and it will take time and efforts...

I just came back from an all-inclusive in Cuba 2 weeks ago. Didn't log but tried to make good healthy choices most of the time. Unfortunately I lost control on portions and on desserts by the end of the week. I hardly could stop myself to eat. I gained a lot of water weight. When I left I was 132. Came back at 145, was…

One day, my mom said that my father would have never dated her if she would have been like me. And that it would be impossible for me to get a boyfriend if I remain obese . Also, a former classmate from university said that when you're big, even if you have nice clothes, it never looks good. She wasn't speaking…

I am maintaining since 6 weeks after a loss of 195 pounds. I decided to weigh in on Mondays and Fridays for a while. So I can see if I went overboard in the weekend and if I did well during the week. So far so good...

I do love homemade fish tacos. So easy to do and yummy! In a tortilla, put fish that you like (oven baked with a bit of olive oil or butter, salt, pepper and some herbs), plenty of onion slices sauteed with red bell peppers and of course, salsa sauce (your favourite)! Garnish with shredded lettuce and cheese. Enjoy!

Check on internet for "Harissa meat loaf with coriander mash" . I didn't try the mash but this loaf recipe was simply the best I've ever done. DH and kids agree. Good luck!

Thanks to all of you! This is a work still and forever in progress!
