haven't lost since March :
I need some motivation. My March goal was to get out of the 190's and April 1st I hit 189.6. Two weeks ago I weighed in at 186 and rejoiced at the loss - which brought me to a total of 25lbs down. Yay! But the next day for scale said 189 and has every day since then! I have been going over on my calories most days by…

setting activity level
Just wondering how you choose your activity level, and then which extras do you add on as exercise? I'm a stay at home mom of two kids under age 4. I spend most of my day carrying 25lb+ kids around, running around cleaning up after them, etc. I do some amount of house work each day but usually nothing vigorous. I have had…

600-900 snack calories???!
Yikes! I just looked back over the last couple weeks and have been averaging between 600-900 (sometimes 1200!) snack calories per day!!!! I need to get a grip on this and am planning to have a new rule called, 1 mornin snack and 1 afternoon snack, no snacks after dinner and all snacks must be fruit or veggie. Sound good?…

Hey friends! My husband & kids & I are going to Florida at the end of the month for vacation & to visit his parents. I just found out there's a 5k race on the beach right near my in law's house the weekend we will be there. I took up running (and dieting) in January and haven't seen his family since then. They know I've…

Starting Weight?
How do you decide your start weight? I put 211, which was the weight I started Jan 1st, but my heaviest weight was 226 back in September 2010 (after the birth of my 2nd kiddo - I was actually 250 right before he was born, can I use that as a start weight??)

Anyone else gain while sick with a cold?
Pretty straight forward question - this was the first week in months that I haven't had a loss (today is weigh in day) and I have had a terrible cold the last few days. I've still been exercising and staying pretty close to my calorie goal. Do we retain more fluids while sick?

tell me about biking...
Hey friends, Doc says I have tendonitus in my foot and *gulp* can't run for 4-6 weeks! He also doesn't really want me doing a lot of walking.... *tears*. My brother in law left his really nice mountain bike in out attic and hubby says it should be a close size for me and that it's in excellent shape. Problem is - I've…

Exercise Philosophy?
What is your exercise philosophy? In my mind I feel like diet is the key to weight loss, but exercise is also very important to being healthy. I also want to have good muscle tone and such. Lately I've been pushing myself really hard, working out 5-6 days a week and trying to do something high intensity every day - either…

Exhausted after work out, normal?
I ran 3 miles today & pushed hard the whole way. The other day I did a 40 min boot camp vid and, again, ready pushed it. After each work out I was/am completely fried! Like, walking through the grocery store just now made me want to stop & rest, lol! Is this just normal, bust *kitten* work out feeling or should I be doing…

once a week weighers...
I'm an every day weigher and would love to switch to once a week but I'm worried that the one day I weigh would end up being a day where my weight did some wonky fluctuation and then I would be discouraged...how do you protect yourself from that?

Plateau already? Or broken scale?
Hey everyone, I've been on this road to change since Jan 1st and have lost 17ish lbs. The month of January was pretty slow because I was havin trouble not splurging. But since I got my groove in February I've lost about 2lbs a week consistently. I'm an every day weigher, which, I know, I know...shouldn't do. But up until…

Why did you want a HRM?
Hey folks:) I've been thinking about rewarding myself for 20lbs lost (which should happen in a week or two) by buying a HRM, but now I can't decide if I really NEED one. I have been using MFP's estimates for exercise and am aware that they are slightly (or not so slightly) inflated and plan accordingly, and so far I am…

NSV - made my 5K goal, two months early!
I am so psyched right now! I started running in January (I had jogged a bit in the past few years but nothing serious or more than like 1 mile at a time) and decided to sign up for a 5K on May 13th. My goal was to finish it in under 36minutes - 12min miles. Well today I ran 5k for the second time EVER and finished in…

What makes people quit?
People regain lost weight all the time. Why? I know I lost 15-20 lbs of baby weight two summers ago then regained it all during an incredibly stressful time where we sold our family farm & moved across the state. But now, I am so into this, so devoted & focused I can't imagine what would throw me off. I had told my husband…

NSV - starting to like my picture taken:)
Hey everyone! This is my first time posting pictures, so I'm a bit nervous, but was so excited to actually have a picture that I'm not embarrassed of! Best Amazon Prime exercise video?
Hey MFP:) I'm planning to reward myself for a job well done (so far) by purchasing a new video on Amazon tonight to play using my roku, but can't decide which to buy. I currently am running 2.5ish miles a few times a week and rotating that with Crunch Pilates videos but I'd like to add in something slightly higher…
