Can the same exercise routine slow your progress?
I've basically a cardio junkie. It's really all I do, 45-60 min on the treadmill and I never burn less than 500 calories in a single session (my intensity varies, so I'll burn between 500 and 800). However, I've been reading up that too much of the same routine isn't good, as it can hurt your muscles and your body will…

10 pounds to go - change goals to 1/2 lb per week?
Now that I have about 10 pounds to go, I changed my goals to a half pound per week. Is this recommended? That way it will come off slower, and therefore it will be harder to potentially put back on.

Active or lightly active?
I just want to make sure my info on MFP is accurate. I basically work everyday, 1 job - I work in a bakery doing alot of lifting and walking around. My other job is a residential counselor working with kids so I'm always on my feet. Plus I do 4 workouts a week for about 45 minutes. Is this considered "active" or should I…

It seems too soon to hit a plateau
I started getting serious about losing weight just a little over 3 months ago and have adapted to a healthy routine since then, sticking to my calorie goal and excercising 4-5 times a week. I knew a plateau was inevitable (though we never really prepare ourselves for it) but I always heard they generally happen after 6…

I never get to eat these foods and I knew that splurging a little wouldn't affect my progress. While I was at her house I just happened to come across her scale. I don't keep a scale…

The slower the better, right?
Just curious to hear other people's experiences with weight loss. 2 years go I was able to drop 15 pounds very quickly but putting myself on such a restrictive diet (1,100-1,200 calories a day...big mistake) and minimal to no excercise. Of course once I fell back into my old ways, I gained it all back as quickly as I lost…

Weighing more than you look
SInce the age of 15, I have been about 10 pounds overweight (until I started really getting in shape 2 months ago), however, everytime I tell people I'm watching my weight and excercising more, they look at me in awe and tell me I don't need to lose anything. I get where they are coming from because I do look a little…

Just wondering how you all stay in caloric control when you're out at a bar or in a setting in which alcohol is being served...I like to go out with friends maybe every other week and I was wondering what types of drinks are out there in which I can have a couple and not completely massacre my progress for fhe…
