Increasing fats, lowering protein...how to not be hungry?
I have a weird question here, looking for some tips. But first you have to take into account one thing to explain the weird diet I'm asking about, so sorry for the wall o text. I've had a weight loss surgery about 3 years ago, called Duodenal Switch. The average amount that a DS patient absorbs is: 20% fat (yes, the…

Found old clothes today...
I was going through my clothes since I'm moving and need to get rid of stuff. Found these pajama pants I used to wear 2 1/2 years ago. I was so amused, I made it my profile picture. I fit in one leg now.

I had WLS and can't lose - did I mess up my metabolism?
Please don't lose your *kitten* all over me because I had WLS. tl;dr eat ~1500 calories a day, but don't absorb like 1/2 of that, my TDEE is 2575 calories. Why in the hell have I not lost any weight in 2 months? I've been losing and gaining the same few lbs. Long story: Good news: Diabetes was gone instantly, left hospital…

MFP calories burned grossly inaccurate?
I'm a total noob at this stuff, but I always thought the MFP calories burned for activities seemed high. Then I joined a gym that gives you estimated calories burned on their treadmills, bikes, elipticals, etc. I'm still pretty hefty, at 252lbs on a 5'3" frame (have lost over 100lbs) and I put my weight in on the machines,…

Eating below BMR, not losing?
I'm a bit at a loss. I had a weight loss surgery in January (Duodenal Switch) - the general rule is that we don't absorb about 40% protein 40% complex carbs and 80% of the fat we eat. I think I absorb more than this, a little bit more, maybe closer to 50% fat, but how can one tell? Anyway, the general style of eating is to…

If it's as simple as calories in vs calories out....
How come I didn't lose weight when I ate 945 calories? And here's the real kicker: I had weight loss surgery that makes me only absorb 20% fat, 60% protein, 60% complex carbs. So my absorbed calories was closer to 400. And I gained a pound. This is the regular thing for me - eat less than 1,600, I gain or don't lose. Eat…

69lbs down....giggidy.
Welp. I started at 356lbs in January of this year. I'm, as of today, 287lbs, which means....69 pounds gone. Still a long way to go. I went from mega fat to still mega fat. It's hard to see a difference when you have a starting BMI of 63. But I'm getting there....

Me + weight loss surgery..hmmm
Well, a little bit about me. I'm 25, female. I am huge. 350lbs and only 5'3" tall. I've tried all the diets, the only one that did much for me was low-carb, and once I got out of keto, boom, pounds packing back on. It never stayed gone for long. Now I'm too big to do much exercise...my knees always hurt, my back always…
